   I just got a link request from someone. I went to their site and see it's a wordpress blog about clothing.
   
   They slapped it up there with all categories still labeled "uncategorized". The title still says "just another wordpress site".
   
   ALL the blog post are copy/paste jobs from article places that allow you to do that. Even the default "this is a wordpress comment" is still there.
   
   GUESS WHAT! They have a page rank of 4!
   
   Google only seems to care about backlinks, nothing more. They could only get a PR of 4 by buying a ton of backlinks. That seems to be all it takes for any crappy site to rank well. Screw Google!

      Well, some people work for the money, some people rob banks, some people beg on a corner... for each his own.
      Even if it is 4 now, it is not going to stay there, I am sure. You can screw Google but not for long!

   Bill I'm so with you on the crappy content ... crappy content + links = Google appreciation. I've seen similar so many times. It's wrong. Simple as that.

   Yeah that really made me mad when I saw that PR4. It's a total waste of space site, even the copied articles are one big block of text.
   
   Even the links in the sidebar are still the wordpress links! I bet the whole site was done by a script. They throw out hundreds of these in 5 minutes, then  buy 500 bucks of links.
   
   Next month repeat. However yeah, it will not stay up there long, it will get banned soon. Still,,,,,

      Hmmm, let me check, but the copyright in the footer said 2009, so it's been out there a while. Oh, yes the domain name has NOTHING to do with the subject.

   I know someone who has 75 blogs, all use only ezine articles. She makes a bundle of money without ever writing a word. All her blogs are 4 or above. Who knows what Google thinks? It's into collecting information on all of us, not into making us happy.
   
   I've thought of doing that myself, actually. As long as it's legal content, and people may click ads, who cares where the info comes from? I know this sounds bad, but hey...I'm in it for the money. If I can make money by copying/pasting ezine articles all day, why not?

      Thanks for the info Amie. However I must ask, how does your friend get her blogs to rank so high?
      
      I assume she buys lots of backlinks, right? I just don't see how any site can get good ranking just with copied content. In fact that should make your site stay very low in ranking.

         Actually there is a limit of 25 articles per year per domain that you own, up to a total of 250 articles per year in total.

            Yes, but Ezine isn't the only free article directory. There is so much free stuff out there it isn't funny!
            
            I have no idea where she gets backlinks, but she has an original blog that is a PR 4 and the only backlinks she has to that one are from her profiles on other sites.

   They're called autoblogs. They are usually widgets that autopopulate your site by scraping articles from free article directories or product reviews.

   Not sure why this has allowed me to post, I requested a permanent ban, but I want to reply to this topic so all is well!
   
   I actually use eZine articles for my first 25 articles, no benefit whatsoever, but it allows you to see your categories and tags in action and concentrate on your layout etc.
   
   The one positive to such cretins on the web is that it gives you a very good reason to write eZine articles yourself (and I am going to be writing some very soon).
   
   If people are prepared to copy and paste them onto their blogs, then somehow get a PR4, then I want a slice of that - forget swapping links with these cretins, get them to copy and paste your eZine articles all over the web.
   
   As long as they leave your backlink in place then happy days

      HI Ryan! The trouble is often they do cut your backlink out and try to make it look like they wrote it.
      
      I have had my own eZine articles copied without my link in it. However enough might leave your link in to be worth it, but many don't.

         @Bill, I know what you are saying, there is just no way to stop people from grabbing content, and leaving links out.  I use to write articles on ezine articles, never generated much traffic.   I would find snippets of my content all over the place.   What really gets me is when people use my name attached to their website to get a google PR2!!!!!

   Getting 10% of my traffic from places like EzineArticles. I know some Hubbers here don't like having their articles ripped off from EA.
   
   Yet being able to write an article, usually with long tail keyword to support a well keyworded related hub and then leaving those articles and have it accumulate traffic.
   
   Works for me long term.
