What do you think?
This is sad and the truth is money talks..
I try to buy from local farmers whenever I can..
This is absolutely appalling. It reminds me of the Big Pharma companies trying to patent natural substances, and throw up all kinds of negative smoke and mirrors about natural herbal 'medicines', so far without success, even though they keep trying.
The only reason these chemical companies can get away with it, is because their seeds are 're-engineered'. I think if sanity prevailed, they would not be able to patent any substance that occurs naturally.
The only hope is to have a concerted effort on the part of horticulturalists, to save and distribute as many natural, un-modified seeds as possible. Keep these species alive by distributing them to others to keep the organic ball rolling.
Sure it will be an underground thing for a while, but like herbal medicines, it can continue to be a viable option, hopefully.
That is truly scary.
Here in Britain there's always been widespread objection to GM foods & crops, even in the mainstream media, but the angle pursued has always been the simplistic "Frankenstein foods" one. To me the much bigger issue with GM crops (which NEVER gets any publicity in the mainstream media) is that of intellectual property and licensing - as your article demonstrates.

Organic food spoils faster, due to lack of preservatives, right/ So if one decides to "Go Organic", do they need to shop every other day to keep unrotton food in the house?

Is there truly organic food or is it the mere assumption of semi-organic food on the planet? I would question that while prices of all organic food ranges from store to store, all food is of organic nature. Why have organic food so expensive that people that need it the most and are the most at...

Organic Food: Is the recent outbreak of the superbug E. Coli meant to make organic food look bad? It's fairly obvious that the new e. coli superbug was engineered to be resistant to 8 different kinds of antibiotics. So if we go with this hypothesis, the next question is "why would they do...
