I really would like to be able to edit comments I receive in order to remove URLs. I have a great comment on one of my hubs but I don't want to add the unrelated URL.

I don't really know what an url is. Shocking I know. A friend asked me to send traffic to his website and he said just leave www. etc and he got thousands of hits on a rock forum. I don't Know how I can do this for myself. To direct someone to an individual hub of mine would it start off "www.--

Making it so that Hub authors can edit posted comments is going to open a huge and nasty can of worms.

I can't believe you can't comprehend the problems that could cause.

Believe it or not...I can comprehend that...

Then maybe if it could be made that URLs are not allowed. I have been on other forums where you can't add URLs.

Wow, these urls are more controversial than I ever thought. Must find out what they are.

I agree, allowing us to edit comments isn't a good idea - but I can't see any reason why we should allow URL's in a comment, apart from in the poster's name, so not allowing live hyperlinks in comments would be a great idea.

Approve or deny should be the only thing to be done...  Once you start altering the content of the comments, you could be opening yourself up for all kinds of legal problems!!

I'll take the idea of a remove links from comments option and put it in the queue.  Sometimes links are really helpful in a comment, but mostly I find them a signal of spam or a bit rude.

      That would be great, thanks!

I think I've only once seen a link in a comment which was not self-promotional.

If someone is genuinely trying to be helpful, they can always give the website name (not hyperlinked).

I've got a few really active Hubs with a lot of Q&A in the comments section, and I often reply with a URL to direct the people asking questions right to the specific capsule that answers their query.  I'd like to be able to still do that, as it saves a lot of retyping of obvious stuff that people haven't bothered to read but which is actually said in the Hub.

Can Hub authors still be given the option to put URLs in their own comment capsules?
