We must have a die hard baseball fan here.  As a kid, I followed baseball incredibly closely.  Now, I pick it up right around playoff time...or maybe follow a hot pennant race or two.

Guilty, as charged.  I do control myself and wait to start my countdown until there are fewer than 100 days, though.  That three-digit thing is just tooooooo depressing.

C'mon, though....you've gotta admit, when you walk into a ball park behind home plate and the field opens up in front of you, it's breathtaking.  The contrasts and colors and the smells and the way the crowd noise kind of undulates along with the flight of the ball.  The buzz that turns into a roar with a crack or a call...

      It's magic.

      It's summer.

      And I'm gonna shaddup now.

Yes, I love the field, the grass, the sun, the mud, the roar of the crowd.

20 days and counting.  I really, really can't wait.  A summer afternoon with the windows open and a warm breeze wafting through and a game on.

Only thing better's being at the park.

Ah, you nailed it. You nailed it on the head.  I'll even take a nice spring breeze in early April - the snow is nearly melted....birds a chirpin'....some early season baseball.

    Love it...absolutely love it.

Basically Spring, Summer, and Fall are great in the Upper Midwest and Winter is a pain in the ass....

Minneapolis...Last year for the Twins in the Big Inflatable Toilet (aka Metrodome)

Should be nice to have some outdoor baseball in downtown Minneapolis come 09.

I can't imagine indoor baseball as a regular thing, although....especially last season...they do come in handy every once in a while.

The weather's such a part of the game, though...whether it's calm or the wind's gusting and kicking up the infield dirt even without a manager to help it along...the drizzle...the sun.

Okay.  I really need to hush now.  I still have to wait until February 28 for the first Cactus League game.  But damn....
