Who is reading my UNpublished Hubs?

   I really don't mind, terribly. They seem to vote them up, even before I've finished with them.
   
   The last Hub I published I was a few days working on, and it had over 20 views and a HubScore of like, 70, before I posted it.
   
   Is there a Super Secret Insiders Club you pay to get into ~so you can read unpublished Hubs~ or is my computer just messing with my head?

      Your own views are counted. So if you edited it, it will be two views from looking at it, going into edit then 'done editing'.
      
      And hubscore changes even when a hub is not published. Leave a hub alone long enough and it can often get to 60-70 before being published.
      
      There's no point in doing that however, because the faster you publish it the sooner google can index it and send you traffic!

               That's all I can think of, too. If the Hub is good, it will get there anyway, so there isn't really any point in waiting ... you'd have to wait one way or the other - whether you publish straight away or not.

               Wry, it is an odd phenomenon but I do remember a forum thread about this months ago - and several people reported that waiting until the Hub had "matured" seemed to make a difference.

            I also think it is beneficial. I don't know if I am correct but I can guess few benefits:
            1. Hubs with better score get a back link from hot or best hubs for certain tags.
            2. Hubs with better scores are shown in the "related hubs" section of other hubs. Its also a good source of back link from inside hubpages.
            3. Generally people would think a hub with a better score is a better hub. It may increase some HP readers and by the process some of them may link back to those hubs.

               I think it would be interesting to compare whether a hub matures faster whether it is published or unpublished.
               
               If it takes 4 days published to get to a reasonable score or 4 days unpublished to mature, it would seem advantageous to just publish and hope to get a couple views while it is lower.
               
               But if low viewer counts while it is published makes the score go up more slowly, it would definitely be beneficial to mature first!

   Yes, WryLilt is right happens all the time.. if your keyword / title is good the scores do go up irrespective of the fact that it is published or not. Use a poor keyword or title and see your scores plummet...
   
   This can happen with just the Title and URL  in the hub that you are working on.
   Good for you it is going up!!

      OK. I get the HubScore going up, but that still doesn't answer my initial question: Who reads unpublished Hubs?
      
      I've tested the theory that my own visits get counted, but turned up zero. Both in my published Hubs, and the one I'm working on currently, which has never been published.

         I believe only you can read your unpublished hub, but of course hubstaff must be able to read them too - otherwise how can they publish hubs that have been unpublished for TOS violations or whatever.
         Once, I opened an unpublished hub to edit and saw a google.com visitor had been. I nearly had a heart attack thinking I'd accidentally published it when it wasn't finished, but I hadn't.

   I too have had Google visits to unpublished hubs and could not figure out how that happened. Strange!
   
   I also show visits to unpublished hubs that I have not been to in days. When I check the stats on these I am shown HubPages as the visitor.

   I had an unpublished hub get 20 views before I published it. I think they were all HP readers. I have also had hubs I've unpublished and they still got page views.

   I think that there is no reason for an unpublished hub to be viewed or rated while it is still unpublished.
   
   Hubpages, says that only the author can see it, but that doesn't appear to be true.
