Getting a friend signed up through a referral tracker

   I set up a referral tracker well over a year ago before i really knew what i was doing,now i understand a bit more i have seen 15 hubbers sign up and create hubs of which i obviously get a slice of their income,i have a friend who i work with who i was recently telling all about hubpages and how wonderful it is and off his own back he has signed up and started publishing,i think he will do really well and was wondering if their is a way i can get him under my referall tracker as it was me that got him hooked on hubpages.any ideas people.

      If he has already signed up without using your referral link then there is no way you can get him under your referral list.  The only way I see is,  to convince your friend to open a new account using your referral link.

         yeah that wont happen,he has put too much work in now,oh well worth asking,how do i get the link to my referal and put it in my profile page?

               i have followed this hub and tried to do it but everytime i go to save and click on the link to check it works it says page not found Help

                  Try to post your link with the URL tracker, the link you are trying to create for sign-ups. If you post that here, then I can check whether there is anything wrong with it.

                        Not quite right. Like the instructions say:
                        
                        http://hubpages.com/_xyz/user/new
                        
                        "xyz" should be replaced with your URL tracker. However, you also replaced the underscore, which is now missing from your referral link. Without the underscore this will not work.
                        
                        So please insert the underscore on the exact position as shown above, and your URL tracker will become functional. Your referral link will be:
                        
                        http://hubpages.com/_2kuo6d4kym43u/user/new

                           Correct. The way I think of it is that the underscore "activates" the cookie to track your referral.

      I have some referral trackers set up in mine. Hopefully I will get someone who makes some hubs. I got one person to sign up, but they did not publish any hubs yet.
      
      I mainly only put them in specific hubs...For a while I was putting them in irrelevant stuff, but is stopped that.

         I put a referral tracker on EVERY link I place between ANY hubs, whether mine or someone elses. And it's got me five signups, just from people who've clicked between hubs.
