Things to Eat with a Sore Throat

   I've got tonsillitis (well the onset of it) and I'm on antibiotics but my throat is so sore that just swallowing hurts SO much.
   
   Any recommendations for foods that easily slide down the throat or natural remedies? (Tried honey and garlic)
   
   Oh and suggestions for helping my baby girl who has conjunctivitis as well would be great. We're a miserably sick family right now!

   You can eat:
   Soup, hotch-ptoch, payesh, vermicelli
   Papaya, banana
   Honey

         Hotch potch is made with rice, pulse, vegetable and chili.
         Payesh is made with rice, condensed milk and sugar.
         
         If you come to my home in Bangladesh someday I will tell my mother to cook these for you.

                  Shuvo,  hotch potch is to mix up everything and make some messy stuff.. this is also some what like a mess but one healthy ,  tasty,  mess...lol

   Gargle with soluble aspirin - it will bring down the swelling in your throat.
   
   Make some nice soups and put them through the blender to smooth them - lots of veggies and herbs for all the nutrients

   Chicken soup with sweet corn and veggies.. warm liquids at freqent intervals.. soft food..sprinkle a lot of pepper on your food. saline gargle, or betadine gargle.. would help bring down the inflammation, basil  or holy basil help if you make a tea with it..and sip it frequently..
   get well soon, I know how it is all my life I have handled this stuff.. a little rest would do you a lot of good

   Whisky, honey and lemon.
   
   Pour a bit of whisky in a glass. Add a tablespoon of honey, and half a fresh lemon, squeezed. Top up with boiling water. Drink.

   Are  good all soft  and cold foods.
   The ice cream is great, for example. But are fine also yogurt, creams, purees, cold soups

   Nothing metal. Avoid plastics, Styrofoam, broken glass, batteries, band-aids, bullets, bones, comic books, baseball caps, LED lights, the Nintendo Wii, piranhas, dark matter, Voldemort, KFC, the Mayan Calender, and of course, a poster of Zach Efron.

   Don't know if you can buy it on the underside of the globe but there is a brilliant throat spray called 'Difflam' made by 3G that numbs your throat - got it from hospital for sprogs but can get it over the counter.
   
   Drink warm Ribena (blackcurrant cordial), and eat mashed potato backed in the oven with cheese over it.
   
   Your little girl needs eye cream or steroid drops - from dr of pharamacist. Get some of that kills all gemrs hand spray for you and your husband and keep using to stop you getting the conjunctivitis - make sure she has her own towel and wash cloth - not much fun when the whole family is infected with eye goo! I speak from experience.

    Thanks everyone. And yes Lara is already on drops, hoping it will clear up tomorrow (or that's what doc said.)
    
    Hubby just got home so YAY. Someone else to help me out (we were meant to be away for a few days but Lara and I came back early.)

    Tea mixed with honey, cayenne pepper, and lemon. Let it all steep together for a while. It's very soothing!

    I don't know what you could eat, other than a cold drink. But I know what will cure it........My throat was hurting really bad. So bad, in fact, it would send a stab of pain down my neck and up into my ear. Plus, the gum in my mouth was getting ulcerated and the glands in my neck were puffy.
    
    Mix 1 TBSP organic apple cider vinegar to 4 oz. water. Add 1 tsp organic honey and 1/4 teaspoon of organic lemon juice.  To top it off, sprinkle a liberal amount Cayenne pepper in the mix (seriously). If you want, add some Stevia to sweeten more.
    
    Gargle with this as many times as you think about all day. It will instantly make the pain go away. After the 2nd day, you should be well, but gargle a few times on and off. Swallow the mixture if you can, it's good for you.
    
    Take the herb Echinacea as directed, preferably 3 times per day.
    
    I've killed my sore throat twice doing this.
