I'm seeing a lot of hubs with the F and the S word in them, its making me scratch my head. Are they ok to use sparingly? What about words like hooker, prostitute, damn, hell, crap? Because I know how much Google Adsense is against "vulgar/offensive" content or so I hear, so can anyone clarify?
I think the best answer is, if you dont want to have to deal with disabled hubs or disabled ads, then dont try and push the boundaries on rules.
I follow this simple rule: Would I want my mother to read what I wrote?
"Excessive profanity" is against the AdSense contents guidelines, so it depends both on the words themselves, the context, and on the frequency of such words. If in doubt, you can contact a moderator and ask for an opinion prior to publishing.
Just got the F word in one of my comments. And it was by a religionist no less. Needless to say it is now gone.
Whenever someone's comment has an "iffy" word I won't approve it. Usually (if there comment was otherwise worth even addressing) I'll type in my own comment and say, "Fred, sorry I wasn't able to publish your comment. If you'd like to re-submit it without the 'iffy' word I'll be happy to publish it."
In all my Hubs, I've only thrown in the occasional (and "critical") "hell" here or there. I don't want to have to be thinking of where what line is when it comes to words. I think there may be quite a few "critical" () uses of the word, "crap" too (although I tend to use that in comments or the forums more than Hubs, I think). So, I'm not sure, but I think the judicious use of the two words I mentioned are not problems. (Maybe I'm wrong, though. )
Kind of surprising that HP doesn't auto-filter that sort of thing.
I think you can use the following -
-Bon of Switch
-What the Duck
-Duck you
and list goes on...
(P:S - No birds were harmed while designing these words)
News Headlines-
1,000 birds fall out of sky. Skyfire says "duck it."
Well I don't use actual bad words.. but I had used ass-kicking and that passed the HP computer filter. But I had come across the "t" word meaning breast twice, in my hub hopping, the first I let go but the second one I had to flag and question if it was acceptable because it was in the title and it passed HP filter.
If you cry loud enough, HubPages will disable the hub in question.

How do I figure out why or where a spike in HP traffic to one of my hubs is suddenly coming from? I'm not complaining, but it's curious, and I'm wondering if there's some sort of glitch or something.

How much you earn yet from Google adsense by your hubs?

Why are there no comment boxes on your hubs?I have gone to two of your hubs (canine arthritis and children's playhouse) and neither has a place to enter a comment. I tried closing out and going back in but still no comment section??

How do you react to hubs with comments disabled? As a hub reader, how important is it to you to be able to comment? Does it frustrate you when you are not allowed to comment on a hub? Will you still vote on that hub? Will you follow an author who disables comments? I wonder if disabling comments...

Sept. 25, 8:08 p.m.In the last few days, I have published these two new hubs:"15 Things That Will Rogers Did Not Say""Joan Jett Coaching in The NHL?"And through above date, I have received NOT one comment. I asked Christy at Team HubPages what was wrong or was it me who did...

I was hub hopping and had to flag a few hubs for being substandard (word count). One hub had exactly 10 words and 2 photos. There should be a way the system prevents you from publishing a hub like that except if it's in the poetry section.
