White House: No comment on Palin's remark
http://hosted2.ap.org/COGRA/e109e277e48 … 24db30de73
Excerpts and some comments:
"There is no evidence that the shooting suspect, Jared Loughner, knew of Palin's actions. But Giffords' remarks seemed eerily prophetic, and her husband and friends complained bitterly of the criticism Republicans had heaped on her in the fall campaign."
A Party member speaks her mind instead of the party line and she is attacked by her fellow Republicans.
"Nobody understands her base better than she does," said Democratic consultant Erik Smith. He said Palin has established "a communications mechanism that gets around the mainstream media."
Nobody understands her but her base. A large portion of the cant understand plain English and yet they can grasp her made up words, Boy if that isn't the pot callin the kettle Rufus T. McCarthy. What do you think, am I qualified to be a Sarah Palin speech writer? Or am I perhaps a little too extornicating in my approach?
"If she decides to run for president, Feehery said, "you would have to make her the favorite to win the nomination." He added, however, that he doubts she could beat President Barack Obama in November 2012."
Her ego wont let her not run. This is the best news I've gotten in months. I'm for Palin in 2012 dontcha know, wink, wink.
"Some saw Palin's video as a sign she's eager to challenge Obama. She twice referred to America as "exceptional." That's a favorite word of conservatives who say the president refuses to acknowledge the nation's well-earned prominence."
Prominence in what area? Killing innocent children by the hundreds in muslim countries? yea, we're probably number one in that area. Arrogance is another area we're quite prominate in? Educating our citizens, they don't need no stinking education is the national motto. Providing quality heathcare for our citizens, yea were pretty good at that if you make over $100,000 a year.
"Some Republicans doubt that Palin and her small group of confidants spend a lot of time in deep, strategic thinking. She seems to follow her instincts, they say, which have helped propel her to remarkable amounts of fame and wealth — starting, of course, when Republican presidential nominee John McCain made her his running mate in 2008.
Many Democrats think Palin is much better at making money and gossipy headlines than in assembling the kind of political operation that can carry her to the White House.
"Every time she pops off, she excites her narrowing band of partisans and probably makes herself more money, but she further alienates everyone else," said Democratic consultant Jim Jordan, a veteran of presidential campaigns."
That pretty much stands on it's own
"On Monday, conservative talk show host Glenn Beck read an e-mail from Palin saying, "Our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence."
It doesn't matter if someone is guilty only if they are being portrayed as being guilty. Stating someone is guilty is much worse than actually being guilty to conservatives it seems.
"Historically, voters in Iowa and New Hampshire insist on questioning presidential hopefuls in small and frequent gatherings. That tradition might force Palin to emerge from her cocoon. New Jersey's Republican Gov. Chris Christie told New York Times editors Wednesday that Palin will "never be president" if she continually avoids unscripted and possibly adversarial exchanges with reporters and the public.
Some campaign veterans, however, think Palin may be able to use rapidly expanding social media outlets to reach and inspire primary voters in novel ways.
She's a very savvy practitioner of new media," said Smith, the Democratic consultant. A candidate probably cannot win the Iowa and New Hampshire Republican contests entirely with Facebook, Twitter and similar outlets, he said, "but you can do an awful lot."
There is no way she will stand on her own in the educated northeast. She cant manage not to stick her foot in her mouth with scripted speeches, I can't wait for the Saturday Night Live special she should generate if she does choose to run. That's my opinion and I'm stickin to it.
Tea Party conservatives view themselves as a persecuted minority in the exclusive possession of TRUTH. Moderates and liberals view the political arena as a forum for a variety of ideas and compromise a process for progress.
The "My Way or the Highway" rhetoric of gun-toting Tea Party kooks is not in dispute. Not by any sane person, anyway. Ugly, threatening rhetoric by Tea Party CANDIDATES, not athletes or media talking heads, infected the last campaign. Objections to the threatening bluster was dismissed on the grounds of free speech.
Free Speech cuts both ways. In the wake of a violent tragedy, the Tea Party, who defended threats as free speech don't want to hear this.
"On May 10, 2010, House candidate Brad Goerhing from California's 11th District wrote on his Facebook page: "If I could issue hunting permits, I would officially declare today opening day for liberals. The season would extend through November 2 and have no limits on how many taken as we desperately need to 'thin' the herd."
I will associate encouraging the mass murder of liberals by a Tea Party candidate with the actual mass murder in Arizona. At this time, VOTERS are open to consider the question -
If people should not gun down children and old people of opposing views, should political candidates encourage such violence?
The Tea Party, who was all for free speech before, wants to hush up the question before discussion begins. Free Speech my @ss!
Sarah Palin was/is desperate to deflect the conversation from the question. So she invents a new controversy by suggesting SHE is a victim. Later she will deny that's what she meant, not that it matters. She's desperate - I use the word a second time - to silence the question.
Talk of violence, and the bluster of phony 'patriots' fuels the Tea Party. If they have to rely on intelligent debate and real ideas, stupid candidates will flounder, and the crowds and energy of the Tea Party Movement will fade like mist in the hot sun. "Remember Tuscon!", will be a two-word rebuke in the 2012 campaign for every Tea Party rally which features the threat of violence. There are new rules about what's acceptable in the 2012 campaign - not new laws - new rules enforced by the endorsement or rejection of the voters.
And those who drink the tea will continue to read the truth and dismiss it as more propaganda. It is becoming appearant that nothing matters to these people but their opinions. When a public figure stands up and announces that 2 + 2 = 7 and half the country cheers his or her brilliance, it has become appearant that this half consists of primarily conservative Christians you can begin to see a pattern. They treat every aspect of their lives with the same careful consideration the used in deciding that every word in the bible is to be considered fact. Someone told them so and they thanked them for relieving them of the burden of having another intelligent thought of their own, till death, Amen,
Refusing to consider another possibility in any situation, sure does a good job of explaining their level of ignorance and arrogance. Ignorant because the refuse to even make an attempt to discover the truth and arrogant based on their belief that they know the absolute truth about every subject they have never studied. That sure sounds American to me.
"Our children will not have peace if politicos just capitalize on this to succeed in portraying anyone as inciting terror and violence."
Hopefully, it will cause those inciting terror and violence to stop........errrr,

Alaska set to release thousands of Sarah Palin emails"The messages date from Palin's first days in office in December 2006 through September 2008a period that covers most of the presidential election, but not her time as McCain's running mate. This release of correspondence also does not...

I am taken back to the site 'unskewed polls' where the conservatives were saying that the mainstream polling system was unfairly skewed in favor of Mr. Obama. So, I bet I could not find them now anywhere among all the bits and bites of the internet. Maybe you guys can add to this most interesting,...

Here once again Biden stands at a podium swings around his hands, and rants, seeking and appoint blame on American citizens, ultimately Republican citizens. Without cause, without proof of the motive of why or what possessed this nut job that attacked Paul Pelosi. Although in front of only a...

There are a "few" posts in the forums indicating the posters' firm beliefs that Sarah Palin's book is an effort to (A) make money, (B) settle scores, (C) suck in those of us foolish enough to believe she's a person of substance, (D) blow hot air, and/or a number of other negative...
