So I was sleeping blissfully unaware when the room started vibrating like a scene from a haunted movie. I am a heavy sleeper so managed to sleep through it.

    The magnitude was about 7.2!!

Had the epicenter not been in the desert, I would not have been here posting this topic.

So how many have you ever been a witness to an earthquake and are you aware of the safety tips?

Well, I have, only to realize that it was a mega snake beneath my bed. I am told that it usually happens most especially when one is a heavy sleeper.

Mega snake?! Oh my... I wonder if that ended your heavy sleeping habits.

Not really, I only put my safety tips right. By making a short-list of my dreams on the night. However, I am not sure whether it can work for a 7.2 magnitude. 'Sister, that was a real shake!'

The intensity was felt only to those awake.

I will not pretend that I understand but I understand the torment that it must have caused.

I live in California, USA and have been through many of them. Since we have a history of "shakers", the building codes are very strict. Have not experienced much real damage to personal property-- though the 1994 quake  did major damage to freeway overpasses and disrupted certain travel routes for a couple of years.

Yes, sadly in Pakistan, the buildings, roads, bridges etc are not earthquake, flood or any disaster proof.

Thank fully, there was no damage.

Thank you for your wishes, Don Ship.

Thankfully we are fine, since the epicenter was in a desert and it was about 80 km underground, that reduced the intensity of the quake substantially.
