I have a Habit of drinking a minimum of 10 cups of tea(normal tea, not black or green tea).
    Is this healthy.
I also find staining of my teeth because of that.
I know it is a cumulative effect of smoking too.
But is teal alone healthy if I drink such amount of it?

Tea is definitely a healthy drink... it's full of anti-oxidants. Green tea is particularly helpful to reduce cholesterol. I suppose you drink tea out of some addiction which according to me is not healthy... upto 4 cups a day is within permissible limits. smile

There's no definitive evidence that antioxidants have a beneficial effect to health  - most meta-analyses show little or slightly negative effects in most cases. (though some trials have been pulled in the past because of strong negative trends).

There's no evidence to show that they reduce cholestrol and I'd definately steer away from having a lot of antioxidants if you're on drugs for high cholestrol levels, particularly statins.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't drink tea by the way! I'm not sure I could live without it, just beware the antioxidant myth!

Tea has always been a healthy drink. I know when I used to drink "green tea", I lost weight - especially mixed with exercising.

        Yeah green tea is healthy.
It contains lot of anti oxidants.
Good to hear you had its benefits to a maximum.

Next to water, tea and coffee are proven to be the two most healthy drinks for you.

10 cups; I feel it is too much. One or two cup a day is not bad. Along with smoking , you may expect more of side effects. Consult a doctor.

What exactly do you mean by 'normal tea'? For me, normal would be black, which is said to be unhealthy for the kidneys in particular.
I use 'Pearl Drops' for smokers to avoid any staining.

Black tea boiled with milk and flavoured with cinnamon, cardamon etc.? Delicious - I always drink it in Indian restaurants after a curry.
I think, though, that it's healthier to drink water, juices, herbal teas and green tea throughout the day.

I heard that black tea helps fight bad breath!  But yes it does stain those teeth and contains caffine, and if you are drinking it for the caffine then you probably shouldn't be drinking it.  I love tea and I drink several different kinds of it for their health benefits.  I do know someone who drinks about a gallon of iced tea a day and he is in great health.

You shouldn't smoke by the way!  It's not cool anymore.

The reason for me to drink tea so many times is because of smoking.
I can't smoke without tea. So as many cigarettes as many are teas.  I know smoking is not at all healthy and i have to quit!

For me, it's the other way around; I can't drink tea or coffee without smoking.

I understand.  I am an ex-smoker and sometimes I wish I still smoked because I miss it so much!  And there was nothing like a cigarette along with a nice cup of coffee or tea!

Tea is great, if you put enough vodka in it.
Seriously, I like both tea and coffee and drink a fare bit of both. smile
You need water with both as they are dehydrating.

Tea is very much good for health.Tea beverages are made from the natural substances found in the leaves of the plant camellia sine sis. You may already know about the many benefits of tea, many people find it tea to be refreshing and also helps to sooth and relax. Tea can also be an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Tea is calorie free when unsweetened, helps to keep you hydrated and contains natural, beneficial, plant compounds called flavonoids. But it must taken in a limited quality as it contains some anti-sleeping elements.
