Newbies beware of false information

   If you are looking at hubs for advice please look at how long the person who is offering the advice has been writing here and the number of Hubs they have written.
   
   There are some excellent Hubbers who write informative hubs that are a great way of gaining HubPages knowledge.
   
   However there are times when I have seen hubs written by a brand new hubber and I know the information they are offering is incorrect. Ask for the names of people who give good info if you need to and also visit the learning center or get information on the help button.
   
   Please do not be taken in by a first hub that tells you that HubPages is owned by Google or that you need to be here six months to get an Adsense account.
   
   BTW. The six months before Adsense applies to some countries only.
   
   There may be people who write a first Hub and are very knowledgeable and their first Hub may be packed with accurate advice but all I am saying is this is not always the case.

   some countries? I've seen few brands and publisher from asia getting adsense approval in a week. Its really hard to give advice in this case. I think best advice is pointing to official faq.

   I am really only posting this as I have seen new hubbers thanking people in comments on hubs for information that I believe is inaccurate. It is often a case of the 'new leading the new'.

   I so agree. Stick to the Learning Center.  TOS and the LC should be a newbie's (anyone here less than 6 mos.) first stop along with hubs from established, reputable hubbers.
   
   There have been inaccurate hubs and advice given from new hubbers.
   HP works differently than other places on the web. Learn how HP works. I'm still learning, and still consider myself somewhat of a newbie.
   
   2tuesday, actually I don't think #of hubs has anything to do with accurate advice. I think it's more how long someone has been here.
   I've seen newbies pump out hubs.

   rebekahELLE I think you are right the number of hubs may not be a guide if they are being 'churned out'. I also think your criteria for what new should hubbers look for is better than my original post here.
   
   Ellarose it is best to find out from reliable sources so as not to waste time. Although that said different people have different ways of achieving results so sometimes it may come down to different approaches to writing for HubPages.
   
   I just do not want people to be misled by the inaccurate advice sometimes offered.
   
   BTW It is no good looking to me for how to Hub I am still learning what works for me but I am enjoying the process.

   2ueday, I'm glad you started the thread, I think it's helpful to others. I just recently have been thinking about my early days here and I remember the hubbers who helped form a foundation for me, as well as so many others. The grey box next to every single reply box has a lot of answers to those participating in the forums.
   happy hubbing, I'm off to finish cooking for the big game.
   I can smell brownies, chili and buffalo wings.. yumm!

   Due to the nature of your post, I would just like to add:
   
   Before you purchase any program that claims to help you make money online...check it out on the Warrior Forum, just search for the name of whatever program you are considering, and look for a review at the Warrior Forum. Doing this has saved me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars since I started online. I am not saying that everyone is honest there, but the majority of posters are veterans in the make money online niche and will straight up call a scam like they see it.

    My post was not about purchasing programmes it costs nothing to join HubPages. My forum post was about being cautious about believing misleading information in hubs written by newcomers to this site.
    
    
    It is not just about hubbing that I occasionally read some 'hair raising advice' in a hub. However my post here is about newbies being mislead by inaccurate information in another newbies first hub.
    
    
    One of the Hubbers who I read and found offered helpful understandable information in their hubs (when I was new here) was Darkside. There were others I read but that is the name that I can remember at the moment.

    I think number of post and time how long you are here both are count on hubpages and google adsense also, with visiting others hub and commenting ,and answering and questioning ,all these things having equal contribution . So we should follow all these things .

    You make a good point in your OP.
    
    The most critical period is the first 6 months of writing at hubpages.
    In my opinion it does not matter what you write about in those 6 months, but more importantly what you read here.
    
    There are definitely a mountain of golden nuggets to be found by identifying those who write sense in the hubpages category of hubs.
    
    There are too many to mention without being unfair to some hubbers and so I wont list any. But you are right that reading many hubs in order to find the similarities in ideas and advice before taking any action is a wise move.
