Applying for Amazon?

Has anyone ever had an Amazon Associates application rejected when using a HubPages profile to apply?

I've had an account for quite some time. Before they started tacking the -20 on the end of the name. And I've since helped 3 others get accounts through their hub profiles and it always went off without a hitch.

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever been declined.

I may be wrong about this, so take it with a grain of salt.

I helped a friend sign up for Adsense & Amazon - and when doing so I was surprised to see that as soon as she signed up for Amazon she could immediately link her Amazon account and go into it.

My first thought was that Amazon don't have an approval process at all (I can't remember back to when I signed up.) Otherwise do they approve it AFTER the account is active?

        Thanks everyone for your feedback!

This is what I have found. Each and every time "BAM!" it's approved.

I am wondering if they're filtering the applications during the "Your Website Profile" step of the application process. Particularly when a person chooses "What type of site is your website(s)? "

I have a feeling that Amazon is starting to get picky, just like Ebay has become these days.

They may want to create a Blogger blog and write a bunch of posts before applying again.

Nope, sorry. I was an affiliate with both before I joined. My son recently joined both and was accepted based upon his HP account.

      Really?!

I should try again for Ebay!  I was denied and I've got a number of sites and a couple blogs too.  smile

Hmph, I have just tried to join eBay based on my hub pages account, but I don't hold out much hope.

Joining Amazon through hubpages is easy, though, they certainly accept hubpages.

Would like to answer the question for you Darkside, yet I had my own website when applying for AdSense and Amazon over 12 months back.

Having the same site I last applied for eBay Affiliate and have been turned down twice, last applied 8 months back. Certainly seems some of these affiliate programs are tightening their account applications.

I sometimes wonder if it is the person doing the reviewing over at Ebay that is the trick.

Maybe we need to point out how much we have made via Amazon and it sure would be nice to be an Ebay affiliate.  Maybe they'd be a little jealous..
