Hi-
I've noticed an inconsistency in the timer on the "Comments You Made" page.
The categories are for comments in the past 4 and 24 hours, and "ever."
About half the time, the comment queue count progresses as it should, with the 4 and 24 hour tallies re-setting to zero. The rest of the time, comments a week or more old are still showing up in the "past 4 hours" slot, leading me to believe more comments have been added to the thread, and when I re-visit that hub to read them, find that is not the case, and there are no new comments.
Since the "Comments" tally column seems to deal with all comments made, and not just one's own, this is a misleading and time-wasting glitch.
Has anyone else experienced this issue, or am I just a 'weirdness magnet?'
It has always been a bit dodgy, sometimes it just seems to freezes indefinitely on a certain time without updating to show new posts.
Cagsil, she is talking about the 'Comments You Made' option which can be found via the accounts screen, it is intended to help you monitor replies to comments that you have left on other peoples hubs.
I thought I understood what this was about, but I haven't been able to find it after all (in My Account).
I went to My Account > Statistics, then selected Comments under the sidebar on the left. What I see is an option to select Hubs or Date and an option to select approved, denied, unmoderated, or spam. When I choose an option, I see all of the relevant comments, but nothing that has to do with 4 hours, 24 hours, or Ever. Each comment shows individually when it was made (i.e., how long ago).
What do I do next?
The "Comments You Made" is under "Activity." It's harder to find with the remodeled "my account" page.
I'm not exactly sure what you are talking about, however, all posted comments to hubs are open for 5 minutes and no longer. All posted comments to the forums, can be edited up to 4 hours. After 4 hours, a posted comment in the forums cannot be changed. However, I'm not sure about the deletion of said comments, because that could have changed. I've not recently tried to delete a comment past 4 hours. I monitored this when I began on Hubpages and noticed the time delay for editing and deleting.
I'm not sure what the 24 hours thing is that you mentioned.
This is one of lifes inconsistencies and I look and then hope and pray that Jesus will help us in this matter.
I will follow Jesus to see if he sorts out this comment anomaly!
Nnnnnnnnevvvveerrrrr Minnnndddddddddd.
It's under Activity, not under Hubs. I got it.

Since this feature was deleted, HP staff have told us that this would be reinstated. It does not matter to all of us, but I know that in my case the readers find it very helpful. A former staff member told me last year that this would become a reality in June of 2021. That did not happen. If it is...

Do you think that you should have the option to delete comments you made on someone else's hub?You have ten minutes to change your comment, but do you think that you should have the option to later delete a comment if you change your mind?

Pretty much like one would have it on a blog - with the difference that I am talking about hubtivity here.I had posted a single comment to one of the hubs a while ago. I am not too interested in the topic, just wanted to share my experience and forget. Well, the thing is - for many months this hub...

For years I have been diligent about responding to questions left on my hubs. But now I've discovered comments are being published on my articles without appearing in my Comments section, so I look like I'm rude and ignoring readers who go to the effort of writing.Today I spent ages waiting for...

I'd like to suggest that hubbers have some way, short of deleting an entire comment, of deleting unwanted links in the comments of others. It is not unusual at all (fairly common, in fact) to see otherwise worthwhile and complimentary hub comments...with a link to a service pertinent to the...
