SUPERMOON - TSUNAMI

   Yesterday, I read about 'SUPERMOON', which will appear on 19th of this month and it leads to a natural disaster, but now Tsunami hit Japan and this is the biggest natural disaster in the past 15 years. what does it mean? Is this calamity due to 'SUPERMOON'?

      can be...super moon is just when moon comes closed to earth and when ever that happens natural forces do create earth quakes , tides and such things...but this happens many times and so we dont need to worry much about it since we can't do anything about it...

   It has NOTHING To do with Supermoons, Religion, Dead Mayans, Google Slaps to HubPages Duplicate Content or active Trolls Sections, or the Lunar Antics of Charlie Sheen....
   
   It is a terrible disaster and one of a higher magnitude than the quake that hit my country last month. But this one has Tsunami waves and they are the worst of the problem.

      I shouldn't have laughed (because of the seriousness of the earthquake) but I couldn't help it Pd.
      
      As for the OP - not heard of the supermoon. I read that the moon was going to appear bigger than ever before (or some such) so I will assume that I have in fact heard of it, just didn't realise at the time.
      
      Whether or not it will have an effect on us, I'm unsure. Maybe. I remember someone once telling me that the moon was responsible for a womans mentrual cycle. Can't remember whether we'd been drinking at the time though.
      
      Let's wait and see what the 19th brings. I hope all is well where you are. Where I am and where everyone else is too.

   Over here in the UK the March full moon has always been connected with unusually high tides, and the weather around the Spring Equinox is generally stormy with high winds.
   
   The moon can effect tides, but I don't think that it effects earthquakes (could be very wrong though?), but in the light of such a serious natural disaster, I think that the last thing we need is any conspiracy theories or flaky ideas.
   
   Assistance for the earthquake victims and hard science is what will see the people of Japan and the Pacific through this

      the moon is known to affect tides, but tsunami are caused by earthquakes

   Quote from the news channel tonight, 'The waves of the tsunami may be higher because of the moon being closer to the Earth'. but obviously the moon always affects the tides so this makes sense, whether it did make a difference or not, we will never know.

   This has nothing to do with the earthquake that happened in Japan. This was a random natural event. It could have occurred anywhere and anytime on earth like all the other natural phenomena. Japan just happens to sit on a region of the world, the ring of fire, where earthquakes occur frequently. It can and will happen again somewhere in the world.

   Theory is the weight of the seas on the earth's crust can cause stress. When the moon is closest
   to the earth it has stronger gravitational pull on the oceans and stress on the crust with greater chances of earthquakes. This period is
   the closest the moon has been in fifteen years being the closest March 19. Bigger quake been predicted by whoever in Russia for somewheres on the western coasts of the Americas.

      the 'supermoon' doesn't make the tides significantly higher, so not much in way of extra stress.  No correlation btwn moon/tides/earthquakes in historical data.  More forces involved from molten magma beneath crusts
