My HP Ad Program impressions dropped dramatically yesterday and so did the corresponding income.  My views remained about the same.

    What causes this apparent discrepancy?

Pheww..thought it was only me - as Univited Writer said, looks like it has something to do with the virus!

    Mine too.

I suspect that it is testing or something, or something to do with YieldBuild working its magic.

My AdSense eCPM has recovered a bit today, so maybe they are searching for some middle ground or something wink

These past few weeks have been less than pleasurable...I hope that the HP Ad Program only update SOME of the views/impressions for yesterday, and there is more coming.

HP did say that they were working on that Trojan warning thing, and mentioned that they had 'shut down a few sources' until they fixed it smile

It sounds like we all saw a big decrease in impressions yesterday - mine dropped 75%, and while traffic was down a little it wasn't anywhere that.   I have assumed that it was because they pulled the ads until the virus thing could be isolated and fixed.

Looks like at least some of the ads are back up though, so maybe it will be back up by tomorrow or the next day when it's updated.

yes, mine was low yesterday also. I'm sure we'll see some recovery.  I saw a few new ads today.

Mine was low too, must have had to do with the virus and the work they were doing.

ah... it joins the ranks of crappy views and recent poor conversion of adsense.

I hope we start to to see some positive news soon.

Hmm. The impressions were better yesterday, but nowhere near what I expected.  I thought I would see ~60% of the number of views to my hubs.  I am seeing 30% (roughly).

Am I not calculating this right?

It doesnt seem to appear on the full 60% o f impressions share, its sharing impression turns with adsense also.

60% HP ads for me and 60% adsense ads for me and 40% adsense/hp ads for Hubs - is hard to balance out smile

ooohhhh....I thought they were replacing the google adsense blocks altogether!

That makes more sense (but is more depressing as I have been making pennies a day now on adsense - a HUGE drop from before the Farmer update.)

since the hp ads CAN appear at the same time as adsnese and they added new ad locations, its probably not an even split or anything like that.

But I notice, the top right (under profile box) will switch between large obnoxious HPads sidebars and regualr adsense ads, so i assume at least that location is rotating between the two

I sure do hope things start improving soon.  For the first time in 10 months, I will not make payout in Adsense.  That would be ok if the HP Ad program made up for the difference, but it hasn't.

To add insult to injury, my amazon hubs were hit the worst.  So that revenue dried up.

I thought I would be smart and start an affiliate website, but made the mistake of focusing on one affiliate's fairly specialized products, and within a month they announced that they are ceasing the affiliate program.

It has been a one-two punch - and I am about ready for some good news....

Of course, imagine how HP feels...they are talking REAL money drops.

You can always find alternative affiliates - drop me a line if you need help - you can keep your niche secret still , but if you tell me the general category I bet I have options in my files.

For me drop started early February and some pages used to show high number on analytics , but adsense recorded two digit traffic for entire day. Now that those high traffic hubs are removed and this new  G update is here, there is nothing for me to test if there is traffic glitch between hubpages and google adsense. hmm
