i do not have any problems in the kitchen as long as I have something in my fridge that  can count as food.  More food - easer to cook! big_smile

I can't seem to get the hang of making an omelet that doesn't fall apart.  Maybe I need the right pan.......as well as practice...I dunno!

heat and time is the secret to it, and do not try to flip half of it at once.

try to fold it. do it in thirds, filp it one third at a time, and keep the heat low. its a little longer but you get a good result. At least I have found that to be so, so far.

also I found if you put things in it like mushrooms, pepers etc, cut them small and all the same size so they all cook the same amount of time and come out cooked even. Start the pepers first, onions second, then the mushrooms (if you like all of that) then spread them out on the pan surface and poor the scrambled raw eggs over that let them all cook togeather and slowly fold the omlet a third at a time. it works, honest.

another trick is to not dump the cheeze in seperate, mix it in with the eggs you scramble in a bowl seperate, then poor it all togeather in the pan..

if you want more cheeze place it on top of the folded omlet for a bit after you fold it, but watch the heat and do not burn it on one side. Light and easy touch is best.  and I have learned less is more.

Perhaps try make smaller omlettes - divide the mixture into 2.

Cover with a lid which will partially cook the top hence make it firmer and easier to turn.

Other than baking, which requires exact measurements, I usually trust my intuitive use of herbs and spices.  That's what makes cooking satisfying for me-and easier!

I am a lazy cook. Best cooking - no cooking at all! May be I should start eating everything raw? Some people do, you know. That's an idea, just catch some squirrel and... well, I think somebody is already doing this in Toronto. We used to have a lot more squirrels around, and nowadays they are kinda small and thin... Not many doves either. I guess I have to stick to the same old chicken.

I need more room in the kitchen. It is too small. Would love to win some kind of "kitchen make-over" contest. My dream kitchen would be awesome. All different types of stoves, ovens, work space, pantries, etc.
    Maybe one day.....

I always prefered cooking on a gas stove rather than cooking on the electric stove that I now own. smile

I have to continually adjust the temperature when cooking on top of the electric stove, because it cook so much faster than gas.

hi everyone! my usual problem in the kitchen is how to clean up the bottom of the pots and pans after. The burnt sticky oil or whatever you call it is just so hard to remove even with hot water, soap or abrasives! helpppppp!

Hi Woman of Courage! I have tried another brand of steel wool but it scratches the bottom of the pan..sad I'll try S.O.S pads if it's effective..thanks for the suggestion!

You are welcome. smile It's been awhile since I used S.O.S pads. They clean better and faster than the other brands. I don't recall them ever scratching up the pots and pans. Look to see if it has scratch resistant on the box before purchasing.

The best way to make cooking easier is to have everything where it is convenient for you and to have the proper cooking utensils for what you enjoy cooking.

Does it help to have someone to read the recipe and/or ingredients?

I get tired of trying to look at the paper and find the ingredients..

Maybe it's just me and my laziness.. lol
