    FYI

The hub in question, I spoke about the other day, has finally been cleared and published again.

I had to clear all my related links, I had included in a links module from my other shoe hubs, before it would clear.

The links set off an trigger banning it as the links were considered duplicated content found on another site.

Katiem -- was it the links or the text that went along with them? If you use RSS feeds and haven't made custom summaries for the hubs, I can see where the filter might pick up the duplicate text.

This was the message I got after asking that question.

      Hello,

You can include links to your other hubs, but posting the same bulk of links with descriptions in the same order across multiple hubs would be considered duplicated content.

The problem was I included all the links in chronological order which made the links the same and therefore duplicate.

Orderly people should know this.  I will need to change my procedure.  Ugh I have work to do.

I know right!  I was amazed, I now go in and move the links around to mix up the order.  Thankfully we have the easy of click and drag... whew... smile

I find this totally ridiculous !   what is the issue with linking your own hubs together, they all have the author in common.  I cannot believe that Google would consider this to be duplicated content per se.  If it is the case then all those highly successful sites with several running linking feeds linked to those other successful sites with their generally similar linking feeds would not be still up there.

It wasn't Google it was the HubPages automated filter that flagged it as duplicate.

This makes it even worse right?  It took me and the editors a while to figure it out, it was a new article I had just written, ALL OF IT MYSELF! published it and so I knew it was original and no one had the time to steal it YET!

          a difficult change indeed!

Didn't the CEO mention something along these lines a few weeks ago? I remember reading something about excessive links/feeds on all of a hubbers hubs being frowned upon.

it's not an issue of linking hubs together, but more an issue when every hub has the same string of words showing as duplicate.

I usually insert links into text, rely on grouping, and occasionally include links to other hubs, but not on every hub. I think it looks a bit spammy on every hub, but that's just my opinion from looking at it as a viewer.

Thats what I thought and what I used to practice but thought I'd give the links module a chance as so many were doing it.  I'm sticking to my old ways now, and thats just as you've mentioned.  Oh well.,,,,,,

Thank god that I am not orderly then! Glad that you eventually got it sorted, Katie, but these are certainly getting to be strange days on planet HP!
