Migrating your own articles/stories from another website to HubPages

   I have published several articles through Triond, but would like to post some of these on HubPages.
   
   From the Triond side, once an article is on their site for 30 days, this can be done without breach of their terms of use
   
   What is the correct procedure on HubPages?  Should one delete the article from the other site?  For how long should it be off the other site before one can publish on HubPages?

   What you are asking is whether duplicate content is allowed on Hubpages. No. You need to write quality unique content. Also, Google is not favouring duplicate content and the search engines may not index it.

   Duplicate content (where there are more than two copies of one piece of work on the 'net) is not allowed on Hubpages.
   
   The best thing you could do is delete the articles from Triond, wait for Google to de-index them (you can check this by simply putting an article link into Google and checking the cache).
   
   Once the articles are de-indexed you can republish them here.

         Since early March, Hubpages has had a blanket ban on all forms of duplicate content. That means that if it's published on a blog first, then it can't be published here.
         
         If, on the other hand, someone wished to publish it on a blog after publishing it here, they could do so. However that's rather a silly thing to do, since you have two pieces of work ranking for exactly the same keywords. Better to rewrite with a new spin.

            What I am saying is that one should only move their work from triond if they have checked that no other copies of their work exist on the web since plagiarism is quite a common practice.

   You say that content that has more than two copies is not allowed.  Does it mean that there can be two copies of the same content already on the Net and the third copy can be published on Hubpages?
   
   I hope you are explaining what duplicate content is.   If that is the case,  it should be "content  with more than ONE copy".

      No. It means that if you publish something on Hubpages, that same piece of work CANNOT be published anywhere else online, no matter whether you wrote it or not.

   I have pointed out this aspect because these days a lot of policy changes are taking place at Hubpages.  Just to enlighten myself on the aspect.

   I just encountered a similar problem with Ezine (and wrote a hub about it of course!) - on Ezine publishers can publish your article in full as it is so then you have loads of duplicates - one of my articles has been 'published' 8 times. That essentially means that I can't delete the original and put it somewhere else unless i get the published ones deleted first.... :-(

    not a very odd problem on a site created for syndication - you would have no grounds to even get the duplicates deleted anyway
