Although the original had it's moments, but i grew up watching "Star Trek:  The Next Generation", so I'm going to have to go with that one.  Sure, it's hard to beat the original cast, but I always thought the "next generation" crew had much deeper stories than the ones that Kirk's enterprise ever encountered.  Having said that, I thought the films starring the original cast were way better than the ones by the "next generation" crew; with the notable exception of "Star Trek:  First Contact."

My favorite captain though of all the Star Trek series would have to be Benjamin Sisko though of "Deep Space Nine."  Although he started off the series as a commander, I always found his character interesting because he tried to be this hard nosed authoritarian by the book character at first but as the series progressed, you would start to see him start to compromise some of his ideals to get things done; particularly during the war with the dominion.  Granted, one could argue that Jean Luc Picard had a lot of internal struggles too, but I thought the way "Deep Space Nine" portrayed Sisko was a lot more introspective if you ask me.

I grew up watching Original and I love it, but my favorite is TNG. I think they did a lot more with it, were in many ways more creative with the possibilities of alien cultures, and the character development was more diverse. I'll always adore Spock and TOS, but Picard is the man.

You can't beat the original with Leonard. It set the trend.

Definitely the Original. And the rest in the order you listed, except Enterprise. Hated that one.
Reason...The Original was more story oriented without the special effects.

to be honest, i found data a poor copy of spock but nontheless he evolved to be entirely his own.

Captain Kirk...he was the strong leader, ladies man from Star Trek.
          Worf...TNG...awesome actor.
DSN...The Shift Changer (forget his name at the moment)
Voyager...The Lady Captain. She was awesome!

Overall...William Shatner! He was so awesome and brought the show to its popularity with his over-acting.

I was a Picard fan from the beginning and must agree worf was a good actor. I however find the character development of Data was interesting.

I never really liked Kirk, maybe because I'm a woman and I had something against the philandering but the Vulcan was interesting.

DS9 - mainly because there was an underlying plot throughout the series - towards the end anyway! I loved Babylon 5 and the underlying plot, so DS9 appealed to me! I also thought the characters were the most interesting especially Quark!

The Original Series.  Picard was too much of a diplomat.  Janeway from Voyager was great - the closest to Kirk in terms of ballsiness.

I enjoyed all of them, but The Next Generation went above and beyond.

The shape-changer was Odo.  Voyager was Capt. Janeway.  Best episodes of all the series were the ones where they bump into an alternative "might have been" universe.  Worst episodes were, "Oh, no, not ANOTHER intelligent energy-cloud many times the size of our ship..."

Janeway was so politically correct you just wanted to puke.
Voyager had many good story lines though and Deep Space Nine took you to another Quadrant where lots of new things were discovered.

The original series and next generation.

There is also a Star Trek Phase II series. I came across it looking at youtube. I guess it is a series that was created by fans. It was kind of interesting. One of the shows involved some kind of weird worm that breeds by the millions, and eats anything in it's path.

There weren't any great special effects. but it was cool.

In my opinion Next Generation is the best: Jean-Luc Picard is a true captain and he doesn't put himself in danger when there's the need to land on a planet! For that there's Riker smile
However I like Enterprise: it's a nice series and for some sides it has more mature stories

I find it difficult to choose, but I am of a mind to say The Next Generation. Kudos, certainly, to the cast of the original series; but The Next Generation was the first series that took the distinctive beauty of the original idea and pulled it into the modern age of television. Great acting, realistic special effects, well developed story lines; it was the preeminent sci-fi series of its time. The substitution of an android in Spock’s role was also genius, since the disposition and personality of a Vulcan as portrayed by Leonard Nimoy appears to remain inimitable.

The Next Generation was my favorite of the Star Trek series because as one responder said. "It was closer to the original Star Trek series in the 60s.
