It's rubbish. You have no clue and are trying to promote YET ANOTHER "social networking parasite."

You have done no research on SEO and have backed up your ludicrous statements with NO hard facts.

      Hope that helps big_smile

Didn't anyone tell you that only a bunch of ole' soreheads hang out in the Forums.  Just kidding, but I think people do get tired of this idea: "I'm new, please review, leave feedback, etc."  No one is really sure if it's legit or a ploy for traffic, or promotion, or whatever.  It is, however, assumed to be self promotion...and that assumption is true most of the time.

monster, I checked out your hub and myspacelisted, and I feel you, man, I do, but the number 1 listed profile got 39 views, this isn't possible.  it may track only those that are listed, but that's it.  I promise, you will like it here, eventually.  I think Politico caught similar flack when he first joined, and again recently, so hang in there.

Go write a few more hubs, get to know some hubbers and what's going on and all will be forgiven, I promise.

Do these guys think they are the first one to come up with the idea of making a hub and posting a "Hi I am new and would really like you to give me some feedback on my first hub " post in the forum?

The problem is, it sux for the ones who genuinely want some feedback.

I appreciate your candid, well thought, brilliantly written, exceptionally phrased PhD worthy response!  For some reason "bah-humbug" keeps replaying in my head.  So much for a quick thought on a topic.  Is a double doctorate a requirement for postings on HubPages? tongue

    LOL Touche smile

No, not really, it's just that there are an awful lot of people promoting stuff like you have on your hub.

Personally, I do not agree with what you wrote, but every one is entitled to their opinion. Speaking for myself, there are now a few too many of these type of sites all vying for the same slice of the pie and traffic is actually dropping off to them.

So I guess my question to you is to ask what you are trying to do - If you genuinely believe what you put in that hub, perhaps you could back it up with some facts?

If you really think that google is being beaten by the social networks for traffic generation- how about some figures?

The only problem is that there are 17 million of the things that all require a different approach/login name/password all have a different membership etc whereas with google - you only have one target smile

If you want a witty, insightful opinion try this one: big_smile

Indeed.  That's a great article, and so true.  If all of these people truly know about this stuff, why are they still working?  If I was an SEO or Google expert, I wouldn't be hanging out with you guys all the time.

...maybe I would, it's fun here, but I would be doing so in a much bigger house and from a much nicer computer.

I disagree with you Misha, the question was simple... in fact, it was "elementary ol' boy" (in an proper English accent).  I never would have expected such a bullying response from such a "highly respected internet individual" such as Mark Know-Less ! My sincere apologies to the "overlords" (cough know-less) of HubPages!

I would highly recommend (if you have not seen it already) renting ANIMAL HOUSE, the movie.

There's an initiation scene where a freshman is getting spanked in the ass by a "senior"... and the freshman says repeatedly ... "Thank You Sir, May I Have Another?" :cool

From what I understand about myspacelisted.com is that this site just went live a week or so ago and it's just starting to get around the myspace community; so yes.. it's not tracking ALL of myspace (which would be 15,000,000+ users); it's tracking the ones that join to see how their profiles rank in popularity against each other.

If you read myspacelisted.com's "why you should join", they actually explain why they think Internet users myspace pages are valuable and it inspired me to write this little post in hubpages.

I honestly think that they have a niche that hasn't been tapped yet and for that, I commend them.

Actually, I think their idea is a "monster idea" ... hence my screen name.. I believe in fresh, new ideas... so why not root for the underdog? It may pay off some day like it did for the NY Giants versus the New England Patriots!  65% of Americans thought the NE Pats would win the Superbowl by at least a 12 point spread... HOW WRONG WERE THEY!

Right now, I think Mr. Know-Less is secretly burning up inside... his blood is boiling... because he's faced with the fact that I can see past his low self-esteem and why he needs to feel "superior against all others"...

This is what I was talking about when I said "Politico caught similar flack" w/Counterpunch.

Not a good idea.  Apologize, repent and move on.

Well, all I have to say is that if you don't want an honest opinion, perhaps you shouldn't have publicly asked for one? Just a thought. Probably a little hard to understand, but if you try - who knows?

And as Misha rightly points out, my issue is not really with the poor quality of your hub - It's with the fact that you are promoting yourself here on the forums.

I do not believe you were really looking for anyone's opinion on your first hub - If you were, you would have taken some of my advice to heart rather than argue your point. Perhaps if you had put this information in the hub, I wouldn't have found it so useless? Just another thought.

As for the know-less name - LOL - I went to boarding school and if I have heard that once, I have heard it a million times. I will not resort to schoolboy insults in return, smile So, no blood boiling here.

The really galling thing is that your hub is about social networking and you are merely demonstrating the fact that you have absolutely no skill or knowledge in this area.

    Monsterideas,

The validity of what is written in your hub is a secondary issue. The major one is you using the forums not in the way that is considered proper by this community. In plain English - spamming the forums. And this sets anybody up to critique your hub even before we open it. We all know it is not right - but we all are human, and human behave this way, you know....

You may not consider this spamming, but this community does. And if you want to be a part of this community, you have to adapt. Based on your first responses, you seem to be a smart person, so I think I don't need to elaborate any further...

    Welcome to Hubpages wink
