During the weekend me and a couple of friends indulged in some Krispy Kreme donuts, which are becoming more widely available here in the UK, and tried many flavours.

I preferred the maple glazed ones, and the apple and cinnamon ones were the pick of the filled donuts, but which are your favourite flavours or fillings for donuts? smile

Please tell me you have had the glazed ones heated up?? That is my absolute favorite! A round glazed Krispy Kreme hot out of the microwave. *drooling*

At the time of our visit they were close to closing, so while they weren't the freshest they were still delicious :p~

However, I shall try the microwave method the next time :3

    oooooooooh

custard filled with choc on top

    or

    special of the day

    or

    bavarian

    or

glazed ( see its bad when I think they have less calories ,cuz its not filled)

I like 'em all really . a little too much

heres another lie I fool myself with

New Zealand doesnt have Krispy Kreme ( though they do have their share of sugary junk) so I feel I need to catch up somewhat.

I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut. (We have Dunkin' Donuts and Tim Hortons around here, in New England)...everytime I travel and have the opportunity to try a Krispy Kreme, I am never in the mood for a donut! smile

When I do indulge, I prefer to keep it simple - honey glazed are my absolute favorite.

I like regular old glazed ones best of the common sorts, but my absolute favorite donut ever is the apple cider donuts at Kimmel Orchard in Nebraska City. My mouth is watering just thinking about them!

I actually have a donut phobia (no joke, I've actually had dreams about them chasing me), but I'll eat ones I bake myself.  My recipe's up as a hub, in fact, if anyone's interested in a non-fried alternative.

Maddie, thank you for the non-fried alternative.  It takes away all the guilt!  Other than the obvious advantage of not experiencing a phobia of your own homemade doughnuts big_smile, how do they stack up against commercial varieties?

I have no idea, I haven't eaten a fried donut in years.  wink  They certainly taste less like oil, and I prefer mine less sweet than I imagine most people do, but I've provided several topping/coating options as well, which vary in sweetness.

This seems to be a popular occurence with food chasing people in dreams, I used to have a dream were there was spaghetti chasing me and it had ears too!!!??

Dreams are supposed to mean something...I just can't work it out though!
