I have been informed that after two years of my hub being published and had thousands of hits it is now deemed as being substandard,as a result of this I will be deleting all my hubs and suggest everyone does the same,I will never publish anything on here again
Instead of taking that stance it would help to add more fresh and useful content to your hubs...most of the hubs that have been moderated after years have met with the publication standards with some little working on them.. best wishes to you..
No Chance there has been loads added, fresh photo's etc people worldwide have been reading the blog as it contained useful info for them just not interested in hub pages the photo's are that so substandard that they will be used in a book that someone is publishing, so anyone interested will have to pay to see them in the book
They send me an e-mail saying it is substandard because of punctuation and grammar, and the e-mail itself has spelling mistakes, the people who read my blog are not interested in grammar or spelling it is the CONTENT OF THE BLOG they are interested in ,that is the most important part of the blog, they are not students of literature or grammar,in fact many of them don't even come from an English speaking country, they are just ordinary people interested in the same things as myself thats is why I published the blog in the first place.................won't be publishing anything else on hub pages that is for sure, check the spelling and grammar on this as well
Is the grammar and spelling of your hub of a level that might be published in a hardcopy magazine? Because that's what hubs should be.
If you are unwilling to put the time and effort into writing at that level of quality it might indeed be best if you move on to a blogging site where it doesn't matter. There are all kinds of writing sites on the web; pick one that matches the kind of thing you want to write.
A lot of us have been hit by the new wave of moderation, I for one applaud the effort (and in doing so will smack of fanboism but so be it). Hubpages is not a blog, in fact one of the sub standard criteria involves purely personal reflections. Do I have to like it? No, in fact I recall Hubpages advertising as a blogging platform (write about anything ads back in the day), but times have changed because of the need to address site-wide authority. We can either deal with it, or not. In your case you may well have better luck elsewhere. I don't mean that in a condescending way Mick.
Secondly, grammar and spelling should be the foundation for any site that revolves around literature. Many of my articles will contain typos, I doubt that is the problem. It is about promoting quality and incentivising editing your own work. You may be a victim here in a larger war against spun content, non-English speaks and bots, but it's a rule that I feel must be enforced globally to provide readers a better Hubpages experience across the board and appeasing our search engine masters.
The point is, I feel you've taken it a touch too personally. It was one hub, not 50. I've had over 10 hubs flagged at a time for a variety of reasons. You will undoubtedly find platforms which are more lax, I'd advise setting up your own blog and promoting your own content, you seem to have enough of it to do so. It may be the right decision for you in the end,
The blog was basically a diary of a restoration I was doing on a Lambretta GP200,and pointing out as I went along the pitfalls etc and giving advice and showing how I had done mine,in other words hoping to help make a restoration a bit easier for others,at the time there was not a lot of information about how to start do and finish one,so if being helpful to others is substandard well any future projects will be kept to myself and sod everyone else, then again I will just be doing the norm,as that's what everyone's attitude is these days.
Your missing the point- HP is NOT a blog and who would take your advice seriously if the spelling, grammer and punctuation is wrong ? Sorry.
you don't know what you are talking about you got a degree in English language ,the majority not interested in what you are on about, who is it that moderates the grammar etc when they cannot spell themselves when they reply via e-mail who moderates them,if no one is taking my advice seriously how come the blog had so many people reading it,plus the blog contained many photographs to illustrate what I have done and it is common knowledge that a photograph is worth more than words to tell a story, how do you moderate for grammar and punctuation in a photograph
don't bother sending anymore replies as I am not interested in reading them they will just be unread and deleted
I guess you just have a kind of personality that can't take criticism, even when it is valid.
We took the time to answer you honestly, it wasn't a concerted personal slander session. Again, as I mentioned earlier, it seems that you wish to be victimized. I offered my advice freely, and I thought the fact that you opened a topic on a discussion forum meant that you hoped to spark exactly that -- discussion.
I and a few others (i am sure) have had this issue. It can be a pain in the *** but what I do now is, re-publish it on other sites I write for and change the title. (I notice even if you edit, HP don't republish it for you and Ads are disabled)
Good Luck.
I would also advice you not to delete all your Hubs due to revenue from Adsense and Hubpage Program earnings.

Hi,this Hub of mine:http://hubpages.com/hub/Haiku-poem-Coca-Colahas been flagged as substandard (or in danger of becoming one or whatever). The Hub is a poem with a video clip. That's all that that Hub is supposed to contain, nothing more and nothing elseand your engine thinks it's lacking content...

I just had a hub flagged as substandard. I would like a better definition of such a hub. Why should someone who posts a u-tube video pass while someone who puts up a link to a useful and entertaining site on the net be flagged? I am often quite grateful for bloggers etc. who turn...

The question of whether poetry Hubs should have 400-word minimums came up in this thread a few minutes ago:http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/70203#post1528809I've been puzzling about what to do with poetry Hubs I've found while hopping. I haven't flagged any of them, because poetry is a unique...
