I know the question has been asked before. I have searched the forums, previously asked questions, and hubs about backlinking. Most say how important it is, that there's a place you can do it, what you need to do it (URL), but I can't find any step-by-step info on how to do it. Do you look for websites that relate to your topic and post a backlink there? And, if that's the case, where on the site? What would it say to let you know where you could backlink? Can someone answer this or point me to a source that you are sure answers this clearly. Thanks!

Do this:  download that AddThis extension for either chrome or firefox - it comes pre loaded with around a hundred link sites on it, and you can then customize it to where it's set and ready for you to use with the sites of your choice.

I'm not the traffic or link master - but I did write a hub called something like "Driving Traffic With the AddThis Extension for Firefox or Chrome."

I use it - constantly.  Not just for hubs, but for other things as well.

I don't mean to give off any sort of impression as to me being the great internet marketer.

I learned everything I know from

          1. Sunforged

          2. Susana S

          3. RyanKett

          4.  WryLit

Those four persons are truly on top of marketing hubs, and creating hubs that make them money.

Does that mean I'd need to use chrome or firefox for my browser? That's fine. I like firefox--have used it before. Is the AddThis extension pretty easy to use, pretty user friendly? I'll try it, and I'll check out your hub, too. Thanks, Wesman!

Yes - you can just customize it for the sites that you use, and from there it is VERY SIMPLE to backlink.

I think the AddThis extension is actually a lot better in Firefox than it is in Chrome.

Awesome--I'll work on that later this evening. I really need to give my attention to some things around the house and yard today. I'm sure I have a problem most hubbers do--staying away from the computer! thanks, again, Wesman. You explained things well. Now, if I can just follow it well! :-)

Backlinking is simply inputed a link to your website on another sjte. You can do this by participating in forums., and visiting other websites and leaving comments. However to backlink, you should copy your sites url, and add it to other sites and directories. Some good places to do this is to join digg.com, delicious.com, stumble upon.com, redgage.com, shetoldme.com, twitter.com, facebook, linkedin, etc, There are tons of websites to join and backlink. But hubpages offer two right at the top of your published hub, after you publish just click twitter, and it will automatically backlink your site to twitter, after you enter your account info, and password, it will automatically submit your sites url. Do the same with facebook. I have several hubs on backlinking and sites to backlink, that you can join right from my hub please check them out. I hope this info was helpful to you.  Please follow me.

Thanks for all the info, wow! I did download the AddThis toolbar. Wow! so many to choose from. Did I say wow? Wesman, how do you possibly know which ones to choose? Research them? From playing around with it, I had a hub of mine opened, and then clicked on one of them, and it went straight to the site--it automatically links it that way? Pretty cool tool!
