What is the correct terminology exactly?! Anyway, I have recently joined and it's taken a while to get the hang of this but I've posted my first Hub - Yay :-)
I'm just wondering if it's a)any good & b)how do I get more traffic to it? Any help would be gratefully received.
I'm pretty new myself, but will go check out your hub now and give you any feedback I have.
Welcome to hubpages (btw, "hubber" is, I believe, the preferred term). My experience here has been great and everyone is really helpful and supportive.
Glad you're here!
Hubber is the correct term, but I rather like "Hubbee" too.
hi angel, welcome to hubpages. you will definitely like it here. peace!!!
Hey Cat
Welcome to hubpages! And the term? No idea. I just called/call myself a Noob
Anyway - on topic. I looked though your post ... very controverial Should get neurons colliding! As a hub, it's obviously passed muster, due to the hub score. However, it needs breaking up. The paragraphs want breaking down - bite sized. Don't change what you've written, just make use of the capsules at your disposal.
Use several text boxes. Insert pictures. Add a poll? It is a subject that's 'touchy' so maybe asking such as 'would you have an affair? - yes .. no ... absolutley not' for e.g. You could also hunt a video out from youtube.
Add more tags. Go to Google Adwords. Put your hub url in and see what it generates as the most used keywords - in relation to those seeking info about affairs.
And - look at other hubbers. Look around the site, see how the elders do it. I think they've nailed it now and they're worth a look as a means of measuring style/content/layout. Oh and you can always look for info within the site. Just add a search string in the search box and see what comes up. There's many helpful articles that have been written.
Good luck
P.s. I'm a Noob
Also, was going to say~
I don't know much about getting traffic as I don't yet get much outside of hubpages, but I did start a Twitter account (you can promote your hubs there by 'tweeting' about them)so I will let everyone know if that works out well.
Hopefully some more experienced hubbers will give you some feedback on this, also you can pore through some of the older forum threads and there's usually alot of good stuff on increasing traffic there.
Thanks guys, it's much appreciated. I do think there should be a warning before you join saying 'caution - this site is highly addictive, you are about to lose entire days of your life to hub pages' lol :-)
Wait, there isn't a sign saying that? Darnit! Maybe we do need one!
A search of the forums will indicate that there is a necessary support group
Cat there is a disclaimer. It's in very very very fine print.
"Disclaimer: HubPages are not accountable in any way, shape, form or Act Of God for your lives becoming less real and more virtual. We will not be blamed when you cannot refrain from buggering about in forums, comment boxes and the like.
Further, it is entirely your own fault if you fall:
*in love
*to the floor
*out of work
whilst doing said buggering about.

Welcome CatCreative, I see you have been shown around a bit. Make yourself at home and have fun. I'll visit you later. Got to work on my 100 hubs in 30 days. Good Luck.
Frogdropping - that made me chuckle! I can tell I'm with kindred spirits!
Welcome! You are definitely among kindred spirits. We all have a lot of fun around here. And addiction doesn't even begin to describe it LOL

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

My new experiment:http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/8289is looking better every day, and in fact I am trying to figure out ways to help as many Huber’s as possible in this path so I decided I'm going to develop my site in a way that gives authors some link juice (and this site will get massive...

For me, the Best Photographer award is a no-brainer. http://aviannovice.hubpages.com/ is the best photographer I've seen on HP by a long shot, but she only has 317 followers and many hubbers may not have seen her work. (Follow the link and see her work for yourself if you don't already have a...

I posted a number of hubs the other day, which all started out at a relatively low score as they usually do--somewhere in the 40s and 50s. I saw my score drop a point or two, which I would normally see. Since then, the hubs have been steadily rising into the 60s, 70s, and 80s, which is also normal...
