Have you ever tried self-hypnosis? Were you able to achieve a deep and relaxing trance? How did you feel afterwards? Did you find it beneficial and would you do it again/are you still using it?
every time my wife nags me, my friend.. every single time
oh glorious zen-like state... blue sky... tranquility of mother earth's supple chest... at one with the universe... the glorious, menstrual-free universe
If I was the man in that photo with the woman, I'd put myself into a hypnotic trance just to tune her out.
Greek: With your negativity and skepticism I'm surprized you have a wife. I know I couldn't stand by you for any length of time. As for your friend, they don't have to live with you.
As opposed to u with ur imaginary friend?
Evolution: Nice to get your two cents worth although I'm not sure that comment is even worth that. It's plain to see that skeptics have no imagination whatsoever.
all of that is negated by my kissing ability and the willingness to take out the garbage
WOW!! You must be some kisser. And in your case taking out the garbage must be a full-time job, especially dealing witht some of the trash you sling sometimes.
It's to bad that you and your fellow skeptics can find nothing better to do than to attack others making fun of them, just like the school-yard bully I had to deal with. I took a baseball bat to his knees. He stopped being a bully after that cuz he too needed protection then.
Lol - love it!! Just don't teach my husband how to do it.
Yes, I have used self-hypnosis, but it was only during a stretch(period of time) that I was having trouble sleeping. I would hypnotize myself to sleep and yes it helped. I woke up refreshed.
And, no I'm no longer doing it.
Today, I telephoned a local hypnotist, but when I discovered the cost to be £100 an hour, I decided against it. I didn't know self-hypnosis was possible. Can you suggest any books on the subject?
Holmes: I don't know of any books on the subject. I learned the technique from a therapist friend when I wanted to quit smoking. It is a great way to get a quick deep sleep and awaken refreshed in just minutes. I found it easy, effective, relaxing, and refreshing, and if I gave myself a post-suggestion it worked too.
Greek: Your hilarious! oddly enough though it might just work especially if you could slowly rotate it.
Better yet, flick it up and down.
Wait, am I here, let met think, no, I'm not, I'm there, not here, or am I here and not there, wait again, I've got it, no I don't, is it true that or not which was is, or is it true that which was is was, I...
paradigm: Ha ha ha ! once a clown always a clown. Self Hypnosis is totally possible but you scoff at everything don't you.
I never said it wasn't. You really do need to stop being so self-defensive. And stop calling people names. And stop accusing people of false motives. Just a thought. I think you are a nice person inside, but I could be wrong.
I have just stared into this image, but as I have had half a bottle of sherry and a diazepam for dinner, I think it was the wrong thing to do.
Disturbia: There is no such thing as "Can't" anything and everything is possible if one puts one's mind to it.
Has anyone ever had hypnosis, and if so, has it worked? I am seriously thinking of looking for a hypnotist, I can afford, but have been told that it isn't scientifically proven.
I pretty confine my "states of consciousness" (if that's the correct term) to three:
1) Awake and "all hyper".
2) Out like a light.
3) In the process of waking up and getting back to "Awake and all hyper", which is a state/stage that can take up two hours and involve gradual and increasing degrees of alertness.
It works for me, though. I like being "hyper". It's very productive. As far as I can, I'm reasonably happy when I'm out like a light. As for the other state/stage, it's hard enough for me to get back to hyper. I wouldn't want to then hypnotize myself out of it once I get there. If I want/need to change somehow, I guess I mostly take advantage of that "hyper thing" by using it to figure out how I'm going to make that change.
