What's the next step for improving traffic and increasing earnings?

The good news -- there's progress. But this is *tiny* traffic.

I've been reading hubs and answers on getting traffic and I'm leery of some of the older advice because I have the impression that poor backlinks can be damaging with Google. So, I hope the veterans here will have some patience with yet another question about hub traffic. BTW, I went to the FAQ first, and this is a dead link:
How do I promote my hubs?
--strategies for getting backlinks to increase traffic

I've added new hubs, after checking the topics and keywords. I've submitted them to Google, Tweeted them, added backlinks on my blog and on a couple of other sites where it seemed appropriate to add a link to a relevant comment.

I added summaries and updates, tweaked tags and keywords on older hubs, Tweeted those, pinged all the hubs new & old... now what?

Pick a topic you know, and write a REALLY good article about it that is fresh and useful. Then promote it with a blog, and refer to the blog from the hub. Let them reinforce each other.

Once you got one that can generate a bit of traffic (say, a few hundred hits a day), then use that to lead traffic to your OTHER related hubs.

Keep in mind, traffic takes TIME to build up. I've been on HP for over a year and only recently did I get my 5000 hits day (for ALL 100+ hubs together)

The next step is to put up a YouTube video linking back to your hubs. One vid per hub, change the title and description of the video and submit it to other video sharing sites. Make a slideshow presentation and submit it to slideshare sites being one slideshow per hub.

Write a press release and submit different versions to the free press release sites.

Take the urls of each new link you make and submit to html2rss.com to make an rss feed and submit that feed to rss aggregator sites.

Go to Yahoo Pipes and make a pipe of your rss and subdomain urls and make it public. Promote that rss.

Use social monkee to bookmark the new links made, including rss feeds. Use Google Buzz and Google+1 to announce your new hubs.

Do this over a period of 2 weeks and watch the magic happen.

Edit your adsense earnings in the op.

The first step would probably to get that post deleted.  It is against adsense TOS to give it out and could lose you your adsense account.

Terry GI -- Thanks for all the helpful tips. You just saved me a lot of time. I'd seen advice about RSS feeds and had no idea where to start. Thanks for posting a site for that and for all the other suggestions.

Thank you both for the heads-up about the Google TOS violation -- I will have to review that.

I don't see any way to edit it or remove it. I'll see if I can find a way to contact someone. I didn't intend to break any rules -- I left that acct. dormant for months and am a novice with it.

I sent an email using the Contact Us form asking to have that info removed. If there's a faster or better way to fix this, please let me know. Thanks.

Report your post to the HP team.  I did this for you already because I was worried.  Not because I was trying to get you in trouble, but I knew you didn't know you were breaking Google's TOS.

I have just reported the post with an explanation. Hopefully they'll do something about it.

No problem.  I'm sure they'll remove it soon.

Good to see that's fixed. Thanks again, everyone. With TerryGI's great tips -- and excellent hubs -- to work with, I have plenty to keep me busy. Yesterday Amazon lifted the ban on Californians -- I got my account back as soon as I heard. This week is exactly three years from when I first published on HP. Glad I decided to give it another try. It's challenging to take time away from paid assignments to bungee-jump in rev share. Still, I spent the morning writing about astrophysics and this has been the happiest few days of writing I've had in a long time.

I'm impressed by the spirit of helpfulness here.
