Any bets on when Marshal Law will be declared in America?
An over view of the trends from finance to executive orders to unexplained apparently unneeded infrastructure seems to suggest the willingness and ability by the govt to shut down the Internet and declare Marshal Law.One of the last few executive orders is that"Civil unrest"has been included as one justification.
I'm wondering what the reaction will be here at HP.Do you think it's Bull crap or is there some possibility of this happening?
I'm sorry I cant stick around right now to join in as I've been spending every day trying to save the projects my partner and I have built up over the years but I Promise to return to this thread latter today.
I hope this spreading"American spring"Does not precipitate what the Govt is ready for.See Y'all latter.
Martial law? Not likely. Police brutality? Quite likely.
Martial Law - as in military or having to do with Mars - god of war. Martial. Who would stand for martial law? Who would enforce it? Will it be the new, gay military? Though grateful for the approval to serve, I would suspect that homosexuals in the military are not all that different than their fellows and would, therefor, be more conservative and better informed regarding the nature of US history and governmental traditions than the average public school teacher.
Who would enforce it ? why the huge surplus of 'bible and rifle' brainwashed troops that will soon be coming back to the US as the lack of money restricts US adventures around the globe.
Perhaps before venturing an opinion on those "bible and rifle" warriors you should acquaint yourself with them. They are the least likely candidates for suppressing the general population. I would look to labor union thugs before Marines.
Marshal law in America? Are you kidding me?
First, mind control conspiracy theories and now marshal law. I wish I knew what everyone was so afraid of today.
But, I can assure you; our government knows exactly how the population would react if they so grossly overstepped their bounds. It would not be pretty.
Of course marshall (or is it martial) Law ! why do you think they have been building those vast prisons in California that can house double the current huge prison population ?? and before you go off on conspiracy, go look up the new (privately operated) prisons for yourself.
California prisons actually are overcrowded thanks to our counter-productive war on drugs and overly punitive sentencing for minor, non-violent crimes.
including the new private prisons recently under construction ?
Though decriminalizing drugs is a complex issue, you are essentially correct. Prison over crowding has more to do with the misadventures of liberty than a burgeoning police state. If minor drug offenses resulted in drug counselling, fines, community service, ticketing rather than actual jail time the numbers would be very different.
Yep, I wondered if that was the correct marshall to use in that sentence. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. Don't ask me why. Probably because I don't have anything to do over lunch.
If I run through a bunch of tin foil hat web sites, I guess it will be entertaining. If I find something more weighty, then I'll let you know.
