snipsly and similar website, a question

   Hello everyone,
   I have seen many people writing about Snipsly, seekyt and infopirate and other similar websites. I understand many of us use it just for backlinking while some post articles there. I have done some random research and I don't think I have ever seen a snipsly article ranking in the first page on Google..actually the content is indexed but it doesn't come up in google search. Is google pnalizing the website?
   
   Have you got any success with articles on snipsly?
   Also, the limit there is just 3 sentences, could it be why google is punishing them? is it considered "backdoor pages" or what google consider as "link schemes"?
   
   Also, I have another random question: when did google start giving us 86% of the revenue? Or is it like this from the beginning???

      I began to write for snipsly at almost inception and never got 1c.  Never.  I don't know anyone who was ever paid and assume that someone has to click on an ad for it.  It's a waste of time.

      Google does not pay 86%, unless they changed since the last time I looked.
      
      They pay 68%, and have for the year + that I have been using them.

   yes wilderness thanks for the correction, it is 68%.. I missed this part when I first signed up with adsense (how stupid!) and now I'm thinking if adsense is giving me 68%, at some revenue sharing sites they give you only 50% of that 68% and you end with only a little.
   
   I'm also interested to know if google is okay with us using snipsly for backlinking?

      I don't think Google cares about that, for the way it seems 1000M people can read your work, but if they don't click on an ad you get 0

      I haven't bothered backlinking for a while, but I always used to include Snipsly on my list when I did backlink.
      
      I have no idea if the backlinks ever earned anything there as I never put Snipsly.com into my channels to check, but I have been known to get the odd click from somewhere with no trace from where so could be Snipsly for all I know.
      
      I must have 100s of links there, and I put them there for the spiders, not for people, although my few sentences do make sense if a real reader reads them.
      
      Backlinking sites are not for traffic, and never were, at least not for me, anyway.
      
      The more places the spiders see your link, the more important your link becomes in their eyes, and so they place your article higher on the search engines. That's the theory anyway.

   Thanks Izzy, I know that I shouldn't expect revenue from snipsly but I was afraid if it is against google's policy to have a website that people use just for backlinking. I also noticed some people writing reviews about infopirate saying that they earn much from it which I really doubt.

      Google doesn't know what they want - they say one thing, then do another.
      
      I think possibly article marketing is the best type of backlinking - you write a full 400-500 word article that is unique and include a link back to your site. Do the same thing round 100s of sites and you are building nice backlinks as you go. Unfortunately this is where spinning software comes in because not many of us can write, for example, 500 unique articles all relating to the one topic that we can add a link to.
      
      Google certainly doesn't object to them.
      
      Two/three sentences to entice a reader to click on your link is OK too, as far as I can see, even if no-one actually clicks the link.
      
      But what I hate are those stupid spam comments sent to blogs and sites. Every day I am having to delete about 100 of them - the comments are nonsensical or not written in English, not related to the content, and it is quite obviously put there by software bots. People are paying good money for some backlinking service but it is spam, pure and simple.
      
      I tried to find out how to get rid of the comments section altogether because of it, and even though I clicked for no comments, still they come.
      
      If I want to stop it, I have to pay good money to a service to get it stopped.
      
      Easy money for some, set up a backlinking service and a spam stopping service at the same time, and watch the money roll in!

   I have 45 articles there, its PR4 and good for backlinking, not for earning.

   Richieb799: I think this is how I will use the site mainly..if some extra income come from it, no problem but i won't expect much.
