Rejected by eBay

Well, darn.  My application for the eBay Partner Network was rejected.  They don't share their reasons, so I have no idea why.  Anybody have a clue?  After doing tons of Web research on folks who've been denied, I can guess randomly off the top of my head some possible reasons, but I'm just not any closer to knowing what's *likely*:

    Too few hubs...
Hubs are already populated with ads...
Hubs are only indirectly product related...
Not accepting new HubPages apps anymore...
They don't like the way the hubs are written...
My business description didn't cut it...

And--what I'm really wondering, and why I'm posting this on the forum--has eBay accepted anybody here on HubPages recently?  I.e., in the last few months?  Is it worth it to reapply, or am I wasting my time?

I understand I can apply at a later date, but, well--should I bother?

Hi- I was rejected on ebay the first time I applied. (3 weeks ago)
I didn't know why, but I guessed it was because I didn't have any ebay ads on any of my pages. Once I added some, I wrote to them and told them I would like to reapply.

Turns out that you don't have to reapply, you just have to email the support team and tell them you would like it to be reviewed.

It took maybe 3 days for them to get back to me, and I was accepted. So just make sure your hubs have ebay ads on them and then email them!

Thanks for the great advice.  I didn't even know you COULD put in eBay capsules until you had an account.  That's terrific.

Yes do reapply - they can be a funny old lot at ebay but like C Ferreira said, they do change their mind sometimes.

I would follow his advice - what do you have to lose?

    Good luck

    Rach

I just applied to Ebay 3 days ago and I used to have commission junction on my Hubs. They turned me down in an email with a no-reply format so I don't even know who to Email back to ask for a review. I found an email on their support pages and sent my request there, but who knows if that was even the right one. Hmmm. It's almost like they don't want us to be in the program. Do any of you remember who you wrote back to that later approved you?

Also, before I forget, Hubpages info on what to put in your application has grown outdated. The option they said to put doesn't even exist anymore so I had to guess what to put mine under.

Since I asked this in two different threads I will repost the response I got from Ebay here as well.

I just got rejected again. Here is what they told me via email. Since they won't say exactly why they rejected me, I can't really fix it.

"Thank you for contacting us regarding your declined application.

I would like to inform you that we cannot accept your application at this time. Our application review process is updated on an as needed basis and may differ among programs. For security reasons, we do not reveal our exact criteria for accepting affiliates into each program.

However, the majority of eBay Partner Network applications are declined for one of the following reasons:

      - You are not in compliance with the eBay Partner Network Agreement and/or Code of Conduct.

      - Your stated website is non-functioning or inaccessible

      - The quality of your stated website is not in line with our network standards

      - Your application data is incomplete or unclear

      - Your business model or stated website does not appear to be one that would attract eBay buyers (the eBay Partner Network does not currently provide commissions for bringing eBay sellers or listings to the site)

      - Your business model involves re-directing traffic directly to eBay from display ad networks or paid search

      - Your business model involves a sub-affiliate model

If you feel that your application deserves a re-review, please forward any additional information that you would like us to consider. It is not necessary to submit an additional application with a different email address. Requests that contain no new information about your promotional methods will not be reconsidered."

I did use the Hubpages 'how to apply' directions, so if Hubpage staff knows anything I should have done differently let us know.

EBay doesn't like me either. But I will try again soon.
Kontera did the same thing to me. They rejected my application first. Then when I emailed them asking why it was rejected, they gave me no reason why it was rejected, but accepted my application.

They are a weird lot at Ebay and Kontera.

Don't worry I have applied 5 times rejected everytime yet I have been one of their best sellers on Ebay for the last three years with my own store there. I have sold nearly 2000 items or more and my feedback as a seller is 100%.I have brought Ebay stacks of profits so like what the hell

After I sent Ebay the letter above they emailed me this morning to say they'd forwarded it to another department. And then just now I got an Email telling me I was in. The whole process seems very arbitrary, and I can certainly relate to your frustration. At least they told me I was in before I took off their ads from my 250 Hubs.

Now let's see if it was worth it and if I'll actually make anything.
