Is there a way to get quality backlinks other than social bookmarking?
Do i have to write loads of articles and submit to article directories? Or is there any easier way?

Certainly writing articles is a good strategy. If what you've written is thought provoking occasionally people will start to talk about it on forums, which can help too.

Thanks for the reply. I've written great SEO articles, yet rank on the 5th page and some not even top 10 pages.
The competition isn't high just that the crazy nonsense articles have backlinks sad sad

I currently do blog commenting as my ways of building backlinks. I can do 100,000+ backlinks daily.

Let me know if you need help.

Here's a laughable amateur viewpoint.  But it might start a debate.

Write good quality content that people consider is worth linking to.

    Wait for years.

Ignore all instant link offerings, clever tricks, and so on.

You may also have to wait a little more than the seven weeks that your account has been in existence for - it usually takes a little over 9 weeks if you are called mark to dominate the internet, otherwise you may have to wait a little while and ---- yes ---- add a few backlinks through articles or other sites - unless you can get others to link to you purely through your superior writing skills as Mark does successfully with all of his wonderful hubs..

There are hundreds of hubs on the subject of backlinking go have a read of a few of them..

You can also gain links through facebook etc.. I think I have liked several of Marks hubs for instance - although he has no shame and promotes himself terribly..lol

Natural ones do come, and they can be a nice surprise, I was linked to from another long established website with thousands of followers and readers that drove hundreds to one of my pages everyday and still sends them now.

      Lol. Thanks.  I think.

I have cracked no secrets, I do not have many links to me, if any.

But I believe in the theory.  Useful, well written - get linked to.

I'm not that kind of guy to promote hubs. I just wanted to know big_smile
Ok i guess I'll cross the 100 hubs milestone then check how things are going on.

But ppl do continue giving answers smile

Mark if you don't mind how many visits do u get a day? In total I don't want to know about any particular hubs. Don't answer this if you don't want to big_smile

Across 200 pages I get about 100 search hits a day.  I can't honestly see any copying types wanting to try to rip that kind of stuff off.

        On the plus side...

Actually there isn't a plus side.

Patience is a much need virtue online.. especially when you are writing on a site not your own. You have been here for a very short time.. your hubs need to age.. and then you maybe told that Google like fresh stuff.. the irony of it all lol
Learning  a new lesson each day.. you will too. smile cheers

Remember your title is a good way of getting traffic too. If you use the words that people will type in when they search for the topic you are writing about. However it also good to remember that keywords are important and the amount of competition for search terms. That is the part I still am trying to improve on but for me what I want to write about usually wins over what might prove popular.

Thanks 2uesday I write on what I like but research for low competition key words.
I do include the relevant phrases in my titles as well smile
