Yes! You have to eat more, more often, but "the right" food. Your extra fat will melt away just like that. No starvation, no diet pills. Just stop loading your body with garbage, no miracle needed.

Fruit and vegetables are foods with more water, and they fill you up due to their high-water content, making us feel full with low calorie foods.

I think if you put your body into a state of constant hunger your metabolsm will slow down and you will gain weight. As a medical prof. I know it is much healthier to eat more often but lighter meals. It also depends on what kind of food you are eating. We all need to eat more fish, fruits and veg and slow down on sweets and fried high caloric and high cholesteral foods.

If you are eating different things, sure.  For example, you can eat 3 cups of broccoli instead of 1 cup of French fries and lose weight.  3 cups > 1 cup.

Yes, you are right. What to avoid is those we love to eat like Chips, Cookies,Chocolate/Candies, Nuts, Butter, Oils, Cheese, Pasta, rice and in place of this find alternative low calorie foods.

It's all about calories and creating a calorie deficit.  You can eat a lot more low-calorie foods than calorie-dense foods and lose weight.  Protein is generally more calorie-dense, but will keep you fuller longer and will help keep you from losing muscle.

I recommend counting your calories for a week to see where you are.  Then slowly decrease your calorie intake and begin or continue your exercise program with weight training to avoid losing muscle to slowly and safely lose weight and improve overall health.  Docs generally say 1-2 pounds a week is healthy weight loss (sorry The Biggest Loser fans).

When you hit your goal weight, stop lowering your calorie intake.  You may need to increase it a bit as your health (metabolism and muscle/fat ratios) and exercise levels improve.

You should always talk to your doctor about your goals and your plan to be sure it's healthy and to discuss any physical limitations or health concerns you may be dealing with.

For quick results, I've heard you can do 1200 calories a day plus as many leafy green veggies as you want (i.e. - leafy green veggies don't count toward your 1200 calories).  For some people that would probably send you into starvation mode, as some users have said.  I do it the slow and healthy way myself.  Twelve pounds since July so far!

it's not a matter of losing weight

it's a matter of losing fat

a person could be slim, but fatty, per his / her Body Mass Index (BMI)

having said that. you could lose weight and store fat, or CONVERT MUSCLE TO FAT IF YOU DON'T EAT.

this is because, if you don't eat, then your body does not go into digestive mode.

digestive mode means that your body goes to work.

if your body doesn't work, then it doesn't metabolize or burn off fat.

the opposite is true.  when you eat 10 times per day IN SMALL PORTIONS, your body goes into digestive mode frequently causing you to metabolize frequently.

the more you metabolize, it's the easier it becomes to do so, and the easier it becomes for you to get lean, and stay lean.

The most important thing is what you eat. It's best to simplify and eat fresh fruits, vegetables and meats. Avoid processed foods as much as possible, especially if they say the word diet, most of that stuff is pure crap.
I tell people to look at the little things in their diet that keep them from losing weight, such as drinking sweetened beverages and the sauce that's put on foods.
The reason starvation diets fail is because they train the body to store more fat.
Chewing food more thoroughly helps the body to burn calories more efficiently.
Of course, I always recommend exercising.

Exercise play a main role which will help to burn the extra calories that we accumulate. you must have a nutritious diet, get regular exercise, and reduce stress in your life to maintain a healthy and fit body.

Yes, you can... you just have to eat the right things.  I eat ALL DAY LONG, and I have a thyroid problem so I should be pretty big by now, but I drink lots of water, eat lots of lean protein and veggies, and stay far away from starch and sugar, also I exercise.  So, consequently, I eat at least twice as many calories as a lot of my friends and weigh about half as much.  I hear all the time, "what's your secret?" and I just keep on saying the same thing over and over again, I chant it like a mantra... eat the right stuff and move, move, move.

I've been starving for 20 years slowly gaining weight until I figured out that simple truth. Now I eat like 5 times a day (small meals) and not even worry. I even threw away my rusted scales. I do not need it anymore. I can play with my weight any way I like, like a fiddle. Just by eating right food I can control it. I am not thin, but not fat either. Just "normal" weight, good for my age.

Good for you Home Girl.  I never worry about my weight and I get very bored when I get together with my girlfriends and the conversation is all about how fat they are, blah, blah, blah, all the while snacking on cakes and cookies.  I get so frustrated I could scream.  I have been saying for years, eat good food and exercise and nature will take care of itself.  Then you won't have to worry about your dress size.

    Yes smile

Eating plant foods can facilitate weight loss by speeding up metabolism and cleaning up the body.

Take care not to eat too much salt and sugar though.  Eating much of these two can cancel out whatever good effects plant foods may have on our bodies.

By plant foods, I refer to fruits and veggies.

I've tried this system and coupled it with 20-minute daily brisk walk and have seen wonders smile

When you wake in the morning you should eat something to manage your metabolism.

As the other comments have correctly stated it is all about calories - not how much you eat, how many calories you consume verses expending with exercise.

Changing your metabolism must be a key item in weight management. Our body is built to change our metabolism when the food intake drops - we are built for survival.

Checking your resting heart rate tells you how you are doing with your exercise program - just as checking your scale tells you how you are doing with the calorie intake/expenditure tracking.

So much goes into losing weight, but even more so there should be an emphasis to losing weight the healthy way.

I have a Hub which covers this question perfectly - usually I wont ever link my Hubs in posts but instead of writing a long informative message this Hub will give you a great insight into losing weight in the healthiest way.

    http://sottway.hubpages.com/hub/Losing- … althy-Way1

If you visit - you can learn about your own personal Daily Calorie Intake and how you work around that to lose weight through diet and exercise.

I think the main trick to dieting is to only buy what is low-cal and good for you - i.e. fruits, veggies, whole grain things.  Don't even think about having all those sugary, fatty, high calorie things on hand.  If they're not there, you can't eat em.  That way, in the evening after a day of being so good food-wise there is no way you can go out to the kitchen and binge on stuff that's high calorie and terrible for you.  You will also feel so good when you wake up in the morning sans food hangover and feeling all righteous!  Here's to food righteousness!  It feels almost as good as giving up alcohol and that's another thing - alcoholic drinks all have way too many calories - unless they taste like crap - so give em up!  Also you will get lots of attention at all the holiday parties when you eat two little appetizers and drink only sparkling water!  Good luck kids, if we get through this time of year we will look so good by next Christmas!

Also a great substitute for rich food is sex.  Just sayin'!  lol
