Mitt Romney said yesterday that his focus was on the middle class. Could anyone please tell me how?

"It's not just that Romney's block grant program would lead governors to begin "capping enrollment, thinning benefits, increasing co-payments, and so on" in the future. As Ezra Klein explained, they are already doing that now:

Twenty states implemented benefit restrictions in the past year. In fiscal year 2010, 39 states implemented Medicaid provider rate cuts or freezes (up from 33 in fiscal year 2009), and 37 states have provider rate restrictions planned for the next fiscal year.

And as the Kaiser Family Foundation determined last year, the Ryan plan championed by Mitt Romney and virtually every Republican in Washington to repeal the Affordable Care Act would certainly hurt working Americans as well:

"By 2021, between 31 million and 44 million fewer people nationally would have Medicaid coverage under the House Budget Plan relative to expected enrollment under current law."

Then there's Mitt Romney's tax plan.

That's the one he claimed was focused on the middle class. It's not just that his proposal to make the Bush tax cuts permanent and eliminate the capital gains tax on the first $200,000 of investment income does not help the middle class, it's that Mitt Romney would deliver another gilded-class payday to the very rich, himself included.

Last month, McClatchy reported that the "Romney tax plan would most benefit [the] wealthy." The Center for American Progress explained just how much. While "Romney's plan also gives nearly 60 percent of its benefit to the richest 1 percent of Americans," Mitt's tax cuts for millionaires are "nearly twice the size of those from George W. Bush."

Let's see....hmmmm....Romney is quoted as supporting automatic increases in the minimum wage.  Yeah he really hates poor people.
He said, if anyone bothers to listen to his whole statement, he is not concerned about the very poor because they have a safety net.  If it has holes, he would repair them.
No one makes one comment about his statement that he is not concerned about the rich.  Shouldn't someone be outraged about this and use his comment out of context?
Reason, honesty, and commonsense are all thrown out the window when it comes to politics.  It's no wonder our politicians are corrupt.
The media is no less guilty of twisting the truth to meet their needs for more attention.

When he was gvr of Mass, he cut funds from poor kids.....not wealthy seniors, or wealthy businesses, or wealthy people, or cops or anyone like that....KIDS.

He does not care for poor people...they don't even register on his computer screen, IMO.

I didn't even bother reading what you wrote.

"I hate Romney" sums it up.

If I bothered to read what you wrote, I would surely be able to come up with a list of such against any politician you like.

They're all the same, save 2 or 3.

When will the left ever realize that the parasites are killing the host? Greece, Italy, Portugal, and France are all collapsing under the entitlement load, and their parasites are angry, but seemingly unaware that those countries are broke.

We are currently borrowing 40 cents of very dollar we spend and out debt is soaring, but the left demands more and more.

    This is insanity.

I can't claim to speak for Mr. Romney, but I think the answer is quite simple.
Once economic forces finish off the middle class (yes, DD, we are rapidly becoming extinct as a species) we will descend into poverty. Once we former middle classers become really poor we will be covered by the safety net.
So Romney won't have to worry about us!
