I need a picture removed from hubpages

   I have gone in and deleted the image from the article posted and my photo gallery but for some reason:

   The image is still there.  Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this? I have sent emails to the help team and gotten no response.  Is there another way of doing this?  I really need to get this image down.  I have deleted it almost a month ago as well as the article it was in and it is still showing up on Google at this link.
   
   Any ideas?

      Try replacing the picture and see if it will delete. You can also try to delete the hub picture capsule and then replacing the capsule if you want to add a different picture.

         I replaced my profile image last week and now the only picture in my account is the profile picture.  I don't know where the picture capsule is.  Is there another place where images are kept?

      I am still searching for the answer to this problem.  I contacted the hubpages help people like you suggested but haven't heard anything back.  Just seeing if anyone here knows the answer.

            that is the picture that I want to have deleted.  Where is this cached/stored at?  Also, if you just posted it here won't it just be picked up in another instance by google?

               This image has indeed been made available again and is able to be seen via Google image search.  The original one was "removed by moderator" and now this one is showing up again.  I have just shot another email off to team@ to ask them to remove it as well.

                  Looks like it is the one on this thread that is in use. Ask the mods to take the two images off this thread and that should be it.

                     Are the mods the team@hubpages?  Or is there another way to reach them?  They did removed one but this one was not removed.  It is the same image from the same source that has since been deleted.

   That is not a picture as such. It is a status message posted by moderators in lieu of the original image. The original image was probably removed by moderators some time ago, then. If the message shown above was not there, people would be very badly served when going to that URL.

      I think I understand, however I still see the image when I click the link and I don't see any qoutes around it or removed by moderator.  Perhaps it just takes time to refresh across the servers?

         Good. I think the original image is probably stored in the cache on your browser. Try to clear the cache, or try with a different browser. I checked, and saw the same status message as Paradigmsearch.

   I think they cannot delete the picture right away, there is a minimum period of time they have to keep the picture on the servers, but the link should not work anymore, maybe you should post that as a problem...

   I'm not sure it can be removed. Don't HP retain the rights to all photos we upload?

      Izzy, thanks for the update. Yes, but as shown above, there was a status message that the image had been removed by moderators. Perhaps what is being displayed depends on the server location.
      
      Indeed, you are right: HP retains the rights to store such author content indefinitely. In this case, it seems that the OP never had the proper legal right to post the photo in the first place, so HP may have a legal obligation to take it down under the DMCA.
      
      So in the OP's place, I would tell the other party to please go ahead and file a DMCA complaint with HubPages.

   Thanks for that - despite reading both threads, I totally missed that vital piece of information about how someone had demanded a take-down.
   
   I think you are right, the DMCA should be filed against HP if manually deleting it, doesn't in fact, delete.
   
   I suppose in that case a moderator will now be required to remove the image from this thread too.

      I agree. We could even report the thread, but there is no way to be sure that it would be handled correctly. DMCA, they will act quickly and go by the book. Thanks.

   This thread has really got me curious. I've looked at every cache I can think of. Can't find a thing, unless it's 2 rabbits!!!???!!!
   
   All I still see is the black "Removed by Moderator" message on a gray background. I even went to the UK google website.

      I'm still seeing the photo. It must be the server location. I see through Analytics real time that there are three different servers I get sent through here in Spain. Weird how this whole internet thing works sometimes!

               Well, that settles it. As far as I'm concerned, that hub of his and the associated pics are gone from every cache on the planet. All that's left are a bunch of facebook link listings that are likewise dead.

   Well, but the image may be stored on HubPages' own servers somewhere; that is a separate issue from Google cache. When we click the link, it goes to HP servers, not Google.
