   Pat Robertson: It's time to legalize marijuana
   81-year-old television evangelist says government's war on drugs has failed
   
   I really believe we should treat marijuana the way we treat beverage alcohol, Mr. Robertson said in an interview on Wednesday. Ive never used marijuana and I dont intend to, but its just one of those things that I think: this war on drugs just hasn't succeeded.

      The man is a billionaire, that's amazing, at age 81, what's Pat got to loose. Yet it is somewhat brave considering cannabis is illegal in every country in the world, the word marijuana got millions of Mexicans deported in the 40s and 50s. If  only Pat had that much heart for gays, other religion and non Christians which make up most of the world's population, then I would consider Pat a kind, successful.” and wise man.

      The possession/purchase of Cannabis is tolerated in small amounts. One can purchase cannabis in special shops (called "coffeeshops") if one is aged eighteen and over. Sale and purchase of cannabis anywhere else is illegal. Cultivation and wholesale of cannabis is likewise "tolerated" in small amounts (guidelines here are no more than five plants at home or the possession of 5 grams per adult max.)
      
      Now, Tobacco is legal in every country in the world and it kills more people than all narcotics combined. Where a pure plant like cannabis has not killed anyone directly, yet not recommended getting stoned  and driving on. Or can be deadly in police raids or dealing with cartels.

   I have got my legs straddleing the fence on the issue of legalizing marijuana.
   
     First, I wouldn't want my grandchildren using it at least until they've finished their education. I don't want them drinking alchol either. If they are using it and are still on the honor role,that  might   be an exception.
   
      In reality, I think the war on drugs has destroyed more lives, and more drastically than the drug itself ever could.
      I think there is too much money to be made by our judicial system for them to ever want to win the war on drugs. This is the bigest crime of all.
   
     If every american that wanted to smoke it could grow their own weed, the war against the cartel would be won.  War over.
      How many families are fatherless because Dad had a bag of smoke under the seat when he was pulled over for expired plates.
      Does anyone know how much money each year is drained from our economy because it crosses the border to Mexico. 
      How many trillions sinse the war began? 
      What do we do when we are between a rock and a much harder place.
