Al thought I like the idea of Obama care giving me lower premiums and better health care,I do realize that forcing others to pay may be unconstitutional. On the other hand, aren't we all paying for those who dont have healthcare already?

In your response is the answer,we are already paying for those who don't have health insurance.and obamacare gives people access to affordable healthcare so millions of people who are not paying anything for healthcare would pay something. If this healthcare reform goes down what will happen is that the next healthcare reform will be  single payer which will avoid all these humdingers, obama pushed for this type of healthcare reform because he thought that since  many of the premises of the reform had been proposed and favored by republicans he would get in the end some republicans to break ranks and back the reform, but he underestimated the impact of the tea-party and the right wing extremists taking over the republican party.

I hope people will remember...this is a Republican idea that Obama put in there to gain their votes on the ACA.

Mandate is a Republican idea. Don't forget that, when the R's are bashing Obama about it!

There needs to be a better way to pay for this. Other industrialized countries are very successful at it and it wouldn't be hard to borrow ideas from something that works alot better than what we have. If we have to pay more taxes, so be it. Gotta be cheaper than what we pay in insurance premiums. A huge portion of what we pay in premiums goes into marketing (advertising) and profits - something a government services doesn't do.

Exactly.  It was a Republican idea based upon personal responsibility.  The irony is that if the individual mandate is ruled unconstitutional, but the remainder of ACA stands, then private insurance companies will have a much harder time making a profit.

One of the biggest problems is that health insurance is so expensive here in the US. The British Government, for example, spends about $2200 a year, per patient. Our insurance companies spend over $8000 a year, per patient for the same medical services.  Why? Unlike the private sector, government services don’t spend money on advertising and have to show a profit to please their shareholders.
