This is becoming a hot issue. You can read an eye witness account along with facts here:

This horse diving act was popular from the 1920s through the 60s. And now it's scheduled to return.
What do you think?
since the Humane society is deeply opposed to this,I cant imagine the owners being allowed to proceed.
Many people need to become aware by posting this on all the social media site...so sad.
There's so much controversy about this. There are those who say a horse will do what it wants to do. In this respect, diving is better (meaning the horse wants to dive) than being sent to auction as meat. But I might convey the wrong message here...lots more to be said.
It'll never happen. The Steel Pier is over choppy water loaded with rocks. The pier is crowded, the horse advocates won't let it go through, and Jersey is not that stupid or inhumane.
I have mixed feelings about this. It sounds like the last time it was done the horses were basically forced off the platform. I'm also not sure twelve feet is actually deep enough for something the size of a horse to dive into safely.
IF the horses are properly trained, well kept and they increase the depth of the pool, I could handle it. Yeah. Very mixed feelings.
This is horrible, disgusting, abusive, and should be outlawed!
The don't jump off the pier, so the rocks are a bit beside the point.
Moot now anyway, it's been called off.
Oh, that's right. I think they dove into a pool, right?
I def wouldn't enjoy watching something like that. I've owned and trained lots of horses, and I can't imagine their fear at having to do something like jump off a high structure into water.
The jump into a fairly shallow pool after a trapdoor drops from under them. Stupid idea. I have no idea why some idiot thought it would work these days.
Wow, what a cruel and stupid idea for a 'sport'. Hopefully this will never come back again.

What are the downfalls to owning a horse? This of course, if you have the means and the room to have one.

I have been a horse person for most of my life, and I have noticed that people do not like to admit that they don't know anything about them. I have had people ask me to ride my horse and when I ask them if they know how to ride, and if they have ever been thrown, they always say yes they know...

How do you get over being bucked off a horse so you can ride again?
