This new world order is a funny thing. Both of you are fighting towards the objectives and the harder you fight the faster the rules and laws of the new constitution are being implemented.

Liberals hate guns so they run to the UN to get support for worldwide gun laws knowing that any treaty with the UN trumps our constitution.

Conservatives are fighting for voter id laws which plays right into the new national ID laws that will be the solution to this fight.

Conservatives want to destroy any budget that involves spending money which will lead to the debt being lowered but never fully repaid, but will consequently cause states to dismantle all public services ie police fireman and teachers.
This will eventually be the beginning of the state police force then the national police state.

Liberals have already introduced National healthcare. No comment

It seems as though this major divide in the countries thoughts and beliefs is tearing down the fabric of the country.

It is truly amazing how divided we have become. We have begun our fall as a result. It’s questionable when this fall actually began. When did the people forget that we had to stand guard against tyranny? The generations of our fathers, and their fathers grew too comfortable on their watch. We must step up and unite again. Compromise is the only thing that has ever gotten anything done.

What we need (and will never have) are moderate leaders.  A significant part of the problem is that party politics has become almost gang- or mafia-like.  To be a part of the party, you MUST follow certain rules.  For example, what would it look like if Ryan had released more than 2 years of tax returns, after Romney has put his foot down and turned it into a hot-button issue?  No Democrat would dare to publicly back a law that requires parents to be notified when a minor seeks an abortion, even if they personally feel such a law may have some benefits.

The laws of conduct in the US have allowed these conditions to intensify.  We have no regulations, for example, restricting news media to only reporting things they believe to be facts (something that actually prevents Fox News from operating in certain countries) because that's against Free Speech... nevermind that news media is treated differently under the law and given more privilege when it comes to public access, taxing, and other public regulations.  There are also no requirements about filtering mud-slinging ads, requiring candidates to only publish ads on their own platforms, or forcing broadcasters to provide equal air time to all candidates.

I do agree that things are a real mess... And I don't have even the remotest idea on how to solve it. It's a juggernaut that is out of control; and it is going to be luck that decides where it lands...

And then we get to experience history all over again...

When there is a solid party system in place voters tend to expect certain outcomes.of course this is not the rule. But now,in the U.S.A.,the party system is broken because T.V. means the local Senator can build up their own brand name and play your own game.T.V. also means special interests have a lot of power because they can build their own base as well, which means the move along to get along/pay to play ethos kicks in.If you talk to politicians they are still quite ideological in their outlook. But now, instead of the machine age,we have the T.V./Internet age.In Australia, talkback radio is the thing.A politician who can do well there is in with a chance. In fact,John Howard built his base up from there.
