The official GOP platform is now against abortion in ALL circumstances, no exceptions.  Bryan Fisher is also supporting Akin.

Try as you might GOP, you won't be able to fully distance yourself from someone who Paul Ryan co-sponsored a bill with to redefine rape and criminalize abortion.  http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/BILLS-112h … r212ih.pdf

If Akin needs to step down, the co-sponsor of the "No Taxpayer Funding For Abortion Act" should also step down.  He tried to legislate exactly what Akin is condemned for saying!

I know it won't happen though.  That would mean a politician came dangerously close to being consistent with their condemnation, and that is above their mental capacity.

If you wait till after the election, win or lose, the subject will go away and the media will pick up another non-issue to stir up the masses. This is all smoke and mirrors designed to get the candidate of the Oligarchys' choice in office so control is affirmed or re-established.

Hmm.   I agree with half of what you said.  However, I wouldn't say a misogynistic lawmaker who tried to define rape as "forcible" is a "non-issue."

This something one side is trying to interject into the vernacular as they always do with every election. Look how well Obamacare with its mandate that private insurance companies must provide "free" coverage of contraception and sterilization procedures, as well as an abortion pill called "ella"--which is much friendlier sounding than its "close chemical relative" RU-486 has been recieved and this is a LAW that will take congress to recind. It is an issue that is being addressed but it is also scare tactics that are used in every election to scare people to one side or the other.

It's a non-issue unless you are a woman of reproductive age who might, with some bad luck, end up living this nightmare of being forced to carry your rapist's child.

As long as congress is in this stalemate and the leaders in the seate refuse to vote on it it will get very little momentum. Besides do you think Obama will sign it?
