What's the matter with my new Hub?

   I just published a Hub on life choices, and it has tanked. http://lorlie6.hubpages.com/hub/Making- … onal-Guilt (changed the title...).  I need some advice!!

      I must be missing something, Lorlie.
      
      This hub was only published 102 minutes ago according to your profile page.
      
      It is indexed, and Google says it was published 2 days ago.
      
      Do all your hubs immediately get a rush of traffic, or what? It's a good hub, but who knows why some hubs do well right away and others don't.
      
      It's always been that way, in my experience.

         That's really strange, Izzy-it was published 2 days ago.  Yes, my Hubs usually get great traffic at first.  Quandary!!!

            Would I be correct in thinking this is your first published hub since HP introduced the pending status for new hubs?
            
            If that is the case, then this is my experience too. Hubs that get delayed indexing (that first 24 hours when it carried a noindex tag) no longer get the Google boost when it is finally indexed.
            
            Not just Google, all the search engines actively promote new content in its first few hours, and that no longer happens.

               You would be quite correct!  I've been on a personal hiatus of sorts and haven't taken the time-or energy-to read up on this.  Duh!

      I don't think there's anything wrong with this hub.  It' s an interesting reflective.    Sometimes good hubs just don't do well.  I'm always shocked at the quality of some of the popular hubbers offerings.  The internet is a mass media after all, sometimes your just not appreciated.

         Thanks, KathrynLJ-I didn't expect positive feedback at all!  My views have been awful-compared to my other hubs.  Self-doubt set in, you know!
         Yep, this is the Internet after all...
         And yes, 2uesday, I never thought of that.  I guess I'll see...thanks.

      Could be that it's just not a HOT topic that people search for.
      
      How long has it been published?  Maybe it needs time for the views to come trickling in.
      
      I wouldn't say that it has "tanked", it probably hasn't even taken off yet.

   Try a recipe hub. Write about pancakes and sell maple syrup from an Amazon capsule. Use "Holiday" in the title, since it is the holiday season.
   
   If you want to be a writer, try Sun Magazine.

   A couple thoughts, not necessarily in order...
   
   * you don't need to give a title to every photo/picture
   * you really should attribute the pictures to something / somebody
   * that poem in the middle fits better as a sidebar, not main content
   * you got too MANY photos. You're trying to put in 1 photo per text capsule. That's NOT necessary.

      Thanks, kschang.  I appreciate constructive criticism and get what you're saying.  Attribution is something I've been lax about, I do admit-I'll work on that.  About how many photos per hub do you suggest without the hub appearing too wordy?
      I like breaking up the piece with pics, but I don't want to put off readers, either.

         Depends on your length of the hub. For that specific hub, 2-3 pix should be enough.

         Just had a thought. Instead of citing Frost, why no an Amazon capsule linking to poem collections by Frost?
         
         I'm pretty sure every person you cited probably has a book out.   That's how you get Amazon modules to show up right.

   Lorlie,
   It is a very good hub. Kept to the philosophical theme.
   My [useless] recommendation would be to add citations for both excepts by Mr Frost and Socrates, just below each of them or at the end of the article, linked to books from Oxford University Press, possibly Wikipedia, etc and maybe adjacent authors with opposing or similar ideologies.
   Photos are great and varied.
   Video: who is the speaker, is their any publication by them? Could add more credence//visibility.
