When I check Analytics I get the number of views for today for example but when I check Adsense the number is lower (much lower). Is this normal ?
Adsense shows the impressions. For a view to be deemed an impression the person has to stay on the site for a period of time.....I don't remember how many seconds. Analytics shows every view even the ones that don't count as impressions. That's why they are different because Adsense is not concerned with views but impressions and how much money they need to pay you, while Analytics is concerned with the amount of traffic, bounce rate and so forth.
Luis, I brought this up on a thread last night.
Adsense page views did not move for a 6 hour period.
During that same period Analytics recorded lots of views. Whether these views were impressions or whatever is by the by. Adsense recorded none of them.
This happened roughly between 8pm and 2am GMT, which is 5 hours ahead of the eastern side of the USA, and 8 hours ahead of California.
Edit: your Analytics should be quite a bit higher than your Adsense, because of the 60/40 split with the site.
Izzy, yes I did notice after I read your post last night, I was just confused.......
Well, so long as you know that the answer you were given and accepted further up is not accurate. Something went wrong yesterday, and we will never hear an explanation of what it was.
In case anyone reading this is confused in any way, I have been here three years, literally, and know how it all works, but something did go wrong yesterday, as it did a month or so before.
Some error in HP's favor, not ours. If there have been errors in the past in our favor, I never noticed them.
@ Izzy,
I thought it was a general question. He did not mention a specific date so in that case I was off. But as a general rule my answer is accurate in terms of the numbers on each account. Similar to the stats on HP. If you check your account page or stats tab, you will see a different number than if you check your earning page for impressions.....just an example.
Your impressions are different from your total views. Adsense is concerned with page impression RPM, CPM and whatever of pm there are. Analytics logs all traffic leading to your site and pages whether or not they make an impression.
That makes it a bit easier for me to understand. I have been confused trying to catch up on the changes and why one week I was making money, and the next nothing. This will help...Thanks!
You are quite correct about impressions.
I was sent to this thread by a staff member who thought your answer answered my report about the 6 hour glitch in Adsense stats.
The two are not related in this case.
Izzy , I know thanks to you bringing up that the views from yesterday were frozen for well over 6 hours. I do not have any proof or can offer any facts to insinuate that HP benefited from the glitch. But it seems very plausible that what your are saying is quite true.
Google Adsense denied my application because my website content was insufficient and didn't have enough links. Please can anyone explain to me how to solve the problem.
Thanks
You need to write a few more hubs of 500 words or more then apply for adsense through Hubpages. Start a blog using blogger, blog about anything. If you use Blogger and write several blogs per week, say four, you should be approved in good time. Make sure your blog does not contain porn, guns, tobacco, drugs, hate speech or anything that might send up read flags.
That's all you need to do. Don't worry about links, all you need is quality content in high quantity.

Why is there a difference in number of page views in Adsense and Analytics?I note that Anaytics shows a higher number of page views than Adsense - i.e. just views, not clicks. The total of views given on Hubpages itself is different again, but I appreciate that may include your own visits to...

Hello. I have some questions regarding Google Analytics and Webmaster tools. Any help is greatly appreciated. When I checked my webmaster tools, I saw a lot of URL errors, a 404 crawl error because apparently "Googlebot couldn't crawl this URL because it points to a non-existent page"....

There is a huge disparity between my Hub stats and my stats in Google Analytics. Hub stats shows me getting 300+ page views per day. Google shows about 20 per day. This disparity started around one month ago. I've been on Hubpages 5 years and never seen anything like this except for the...

I looked into my Analytics and it said I had an XXX amount of unique visitors(for this day). I am not sure if I am allowed to say how many(tell me if I am wrong), but I am extremely surprised how big the number was.(for me anyway)Why are my google adsense page impressions about 50% lower than my...

I got 42 impressions in last 24 hours. So if only 16 came today and hubpages takes their 50% then that should be 8 impressions but adsense only shows 3. Any ideas.
