   Micheal Moore is , of course, happy that Reagan voters are dying.
   Yes this is just another one of those people who spout this kind of sick hatred daily but will be given a pardon because he is leftist and I will be told he was just kidding.

                     I'm beginning to wonder if YOU read it. Right after the quote it says, "Sensing perhaps a verbal misstep, Moore clarified his comments."  Meaning, he realized what he said and thought he better backtrack a bit.  As I said, one could argue he did indeed say exactly what he meant the FIRST time he said it, rather than when he decided he'd stepped in it, so he "clarified" it.

                        They will be very happy in about 40 years when plainly all baby boomer conservatives will be gone and they can finish their erasure of the past and frame it to suit their needs.

                              It's sad that we as a species are not immortal, but there are certain upsides. People don't change with age, they cement their beliefs. If those people were 100 years old and voted today, how many would vote for gay rights? None; the 60 year olds of Reagans era weren't known for voting equality. Sure not all, but the exceptions don't outweigh the rule.
                              One day we will all die, and our decendants will take over.

                                 Perhaps but then why go after Reagan at all? Why specifically mention Reagan? If all he was referring to was social conditions, he would not have mentioned a President by name, merely a decade or time frame. Like I said. He meant what he said the first time he said it. Then a light bulb went off in his brain that let him know it was not alright to publicly state you were glad people were dying off. So he changed it. There is no mention of social conditions at all until his "clarification".

   I don't see what the big deal is? Those of the Reagan era that were up in age were more conservative most probably GOP, the inevitable process of death naturally eliminated this group. Of course, a more progressive population replacing them is desirable for me on the left and from Moore's perspective.
   
   Moore is just reminding the rightwinger that the demographics are changing veering left, but over the last few years that has been no surprise to anyone, right?
