Why is Trump so hated by the Left in America?   Political opposition is normal between Democrats & Republicans- that is par for the course.  However, political opposition has escalated to a pure visceral level since Trump has been president.   When Trump became president, there was a strong animus amongst Democrats who tried to sabotage him at every turn.  Democrats have demonstrated blatant disrespect for Trump because of his forthrightness.  Pelosi showed the ultimate disrespect for him by tearing up his speech in front of everyone.   Your thoughts on why Trump is viscerally hated by the Left.  This hatred of Trump continues to this day.

I think the hatred is becoming less and less.

He is a leader and we need a leader right about now.

Seems those that truly hate him are members of the right that don't want to be MAGA.  We on the left just see him as a dangerous idiot due to his malignant narcissism and constant lying.

The dangers he poses can be evidenced by El Paso, Buffalo, January 6, Cincinnati and by the recent bomb threats in Springfield, Ohio.  All of these acts of domestic terror can be directly linked to Trump's rhetoric or lies.

Grace,   From my perceptive as a Trump supporter, the intense animosity/hate from the Left toward Trump can be seen as a reaction to his disruptive approach to politics.   One must consider Trump entered the political arena as a nontraditional bigger-than-life candidate, challenging the established political norms and elites, many of whom have been entrenched in the political system for many decades. His direct, unapologetic style resonated with many Americans who felt disenfranchised by the political establishment. However, for the Left, this same forthrightness was seen as inflammatory, lacking decorum, and a rejection of the political values they hold dear. The seed of hate was planted...

Trump's policies—such as his tough stance on immigration, tax cuts, deregulation, and withdrawal from international agreements—were directly at odds with many progressive goals, leading to deep ideological opposition. But what sets Trump apart is his willingness to fight back aggressively against his critics.  Unlike previous Republican leaders who may have been more diplomatic, Trump’s blunt, often confrontational approach fueled a perception among Democrats that he was not just a political opponent but a threat to the democratic process itself. This perception only heightened when figures like Nancy Pelosi, who represents a key leader of the Left, showed overt disrespect, such as tearing up his State of the Union speech.  The seed took root as political leaders began openly displaying their disdain for Trump. With media feeding the hate with reports that much of the time twisted his words out of context. Feeding those that were hungry for this form of hate.

From this view, the hatred toward Trump is not just about political opposition but a reaction to his refusal to conform to the expectations of Washington politics.  His refusal to back down, his outsider status, and his ability to communicate directly with his base through social media only amplified the Left’s disdain. To Trump supporters, this hatred reveals the Left’s inability to handle a leader who defies their norms and represents a significant challenge to their political dominance. In this light, the animus continues today because Trump remains a potent political force, unbowed and continuing to shape the Republican Party and American politics. He is a fighter, and hate does not seem to deter him.

I have never seen such vitriolic hatred in my life.  Even Nixon wasn't hated this much.

Grace --   True, and we need to raise our voices to anyone who will listen—making it our mission to help steer our Nation back onto the right path, one we've strayed from due to the hate coming from many of those we trusted to lead us.

I just looked at this thread and found it funny that your first reply was from a TDS sufferer making unproven claims. He stated "All of these acts of domestic terror can be directly linked to Trump's rhetoric or lies" That is what the media tells these people what to believe. I actually heard from a reliable source, using the same level of proof that that hater justifiies, that the person that called in the bomb threat was an illegal.

The media on the left often repeat the same rhetoric until it takes hold. These messages seem to take root quickly, fostering a strong dislike/hate for a single individual, Trump. Personally, I would find it deeply shameful to fall victim to what, for lack of a better term, feels like a form of brainwashing. What does it say about some in our society?

What do you feel Democrats do, that are outward expressions of hate toward Trump?   How is this supposed hate expressed?

Trump is hated because he points things like this out and makes them apparent to all Americans:

Trump has always done that, he will always be despised by those that shill for the elites.  He exposes what is going on:

Ken,   Yes, it's difficult to support such wrongdoing... In my opinion, we've seen a textbook example of brainwashing—it's unsettling, but how else can one explain how half of society has been numbed down?

I engage in discussions on various platforms, like X, and I can tell you that I’m seeing many people having epiphanies about the Democratic Party. Lifelong Democrats are throwing in the towel. As I mentioned before, I still hold on to hope, and I believe that at their core, Americans are patriots who stand for our Constitution. People are starting to realize that this administration is trying to tear it apart, and their eyes are being opened to the weaponization happening right in front of them.  Yes, there will always be some stragglers.

Kamala + the Deep State = Totalitarianism

This formula should be in everyone's mind. A Vote for Kamala is a vote for less freedom, which might be an understatement. We won't know until, she is PRESIDENT. .. cough, cough.

( ... and get ready for it, she may be PRESIDENT whether we vote for her to not.)

Why not?  She became the Democrat nominee whether anyone voted for her or not.

Yes & that is what I LOVE about Trump.  He exposes the truth while DEMONcrats insist on lying propaganda.  Did you know that CNN reported that the influx of jobs reported was a lie?  The Democrats have stated so many lies to the gullible American public.
