I have tried writing a new summary, checking links and spelling. Word count is over 1000. I just don't know what to do with this Hub to get it out of "Idle". Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated,.

Hello! You might want to try rewording some stuff or add some additonal info you might want to add. I know because I had three of my hubs idled due to poor traffic. I added some stuff to my hubs. One was republished and the other two are pending. Nothing like refreshing a hub or three...hope this helps!

    I recommend:
    1. Breaking the text into multiple Text Capsules with descriptive, search-friendly subheadings
    2. Featuring images throughout the Hub in multiple Photo Capsules (some floated to the right, some centered)
    3. Doing some keyword research to see what terms people are using when searching for recommendations on weather websites and amend your title accordingly
    4. Consider adding a Ratings Capsule and giving a star rating to the weather website you describe the most
    5. Presenting links in hyperlinked text or Links Capsules and not just leaving URLs
    6. Making your text easier to skip around with bulleted lists and additional types of capsules that reinforce the information you're sharing

Just some starting points! Hope that helps. big_smile

Thanks, Simone - sounds like I've got my work cut out for me. I'll start playing around with it and see what I can do.

I would suggest using screen shots of the sites you are reviewing instead of generic weather pictures, and changing the title to something like 'Best Websites for Weather Information'.

Psycheskinner - I think the title is the biggest problem. Thanks for the input.

I agree with Simone.  The layout needs help.  By using multiple text capsules and using photos to the right and centered, you will make a more visually appealing hub.  Using subheadings will make your hub both more searchable and user friendly.  For instance, if I were looking for good weather sites for my kids, using that subheading would make it easier for me to find that part of your hub.

I use polls and quizzes to keep readers interested and engaged in my hubs, and I suggest making some of those.  You could make a fun quiz on this topic...maybe one that rates whether you are a weather nut or a weather not, for instance.

Right now, there is good information in your hub.  It's just not user friendly.  But you've got the makings of a really good hub with a little work. smile

I've brought back all of my hubs that I wanted to from the idle status with just proper photo identification, changing only a couple words of text, adding subheadings and adding in borders for more visual interest.

I think as all your hubs, there is a wealth of info and as always a great place to find great resources. But with this Hub for me that I would start with. I think the title is fine.

I would open with something more like. 'There are many reasons why someone wants to know what is going on with the weather. Maybe you are studying the effects of a storm that mother nature is wrecking havoc on or maybe next week you are traveling and want to know what to pack. We all know the internet is a wealth of information for whatever it is you are looking for, yet sometimes it can be frustrating honing in on exactly what we want.  So here, I have gathered and reviewed some of the best sites for whatever reason you are looking into the weather!

Then I would take each one of the sites that you have listed and use them as a capsule headline.Meaning name the site and the reason one would want to click on that site. For example your first one. .
For The Serious - ..... for the serious what?

Break it up more like.. .
    For the Traveler
    For the Researcher
    For Kids
    Or Just for Fun!
