In the face of all the killings, murders etc. day after day, year after year where the gun is always a part of the killing scenario there are those who doggedly maintain the notion that guns have no part in the death of innocent men women and children.
If people are correct that the gun is not the problem then in order for people to protect themselves I suggest that starting with school kids in kindergartner, let us provide them with a hip holster and a six shooter. Arming every child in America will then end this problem of violence from the standpoint of people like those who support the NRA-Correct?
I'm not sure who is suggesting that in order to combat school shootings we need more weapons in schools. Most who argue for responsible adults to carry weapons in schools are doing so as a measure to protect children when shootings occur, but to prevent them from happening, the jury is still out.
What definitely definitely won't work is prohibition, as is demonstrated by the balanced reading of all statistics.
A voice of reason on this issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ooa98FHuaU0
Does anybody have any idea who this guy is? This is his only video.
Good video, with but one inaccuracy. He keeps saying we have 6X the large metropolitan areas that Britain does as if that means anything. It doesn't. What would mean something is if the percentage of our population that lives in those areas is greater than Englands, which I doubt.
I would also be interested in seeing what the gun ownership in metropolitan areas is compared to the national average. Violent crime is up, but off the top of my head, gun ownership is likely down in those large areas.
Yes, the gangs have guns (illegal ones, but guns) but I doubt that many others do. Not, at least, to the degree that rural or smaller towns do. Seen any stats on that?

Taken from the website America is an unusually violent country will. But we are not as violent as we used to be.

The scenario I presented by arming all the children in this country has got to be complete lunacy for anyone to consider ever doing that. But yet we ignore the reality of what we have created a file and country. The question begs to be answered how did we ever get a long before guns were created, and especially before automatic weapons were created? What weapons will we reject? Since the buyback program for guns has yielded rocket launchers. What other devastating weapons are we going to permit citizens to own?
We are saying we have created this threatening and violent environment permeated by over 300,000,000 guns and the solution to this problem is to continue adding more guns to an environment where killing has become a way of life.
It is no longer safe for children to play not only on the streets but in their own homes because adults and preadolescents are firing guns at one another entering into the homes of innocent families.

The fact that we live in a country where we have to consider putting guns in schools to try to keep our children safe is an indication that we have a problem. If the “guns in schools” works then do we put guns in movies, churches, malls and anywhere else people gather. Protecting our...

Why are guns so violently defended?I know why gun manufacturers defend guns (it's their business) but why do gun owners defend it more vehemently than any other topic? People that are completely silent on other hot button issues suddenly pull out their megaphone to defend guns after another...

Ask the 59 people who were killed and the 525 people who were wounded and all of those who were traumatized by this horrific event, if we need gun control. Why does any civilian need access to assault weapons? The problem is the mentally ill are an unknown quantity until after they commit the...
