Thanks to Simone! She suggested I try a different browser--and it worked. Woo hoo! :-)

So, Vee....don't keep us in suspense....which "different" browser did you try?    When I was having enough technical issues to make me S C R E A M.......someone suggested the same thing to me.  I switched to Mozilla Firefox...and it fixed everything instantly and it's been smooth sailing, ever since.
So....now....what can we talk about, since your test was successful?   Men?  Jobs?  Money?  Food?
That sweet Simone is a life saver, isn't she?   She just hangs around and appears like Bat Woman when a hubber is tied to the RR tracks!

Effer, I was on Google Chrome, which I really like. I tried FireFox but still problems. Internet Explorer is working for me right now. HubPages is the only site I was having trouble with. I'm hoping I can get back to Google Chrome soon, because IE always seems to lock up on me. It's not smooth sailing over here yet. Yeah, Simone rocks.

How ya been, Effer? I'm sleepy and trying to get off the couch today. Heck, I guess I don't have to. I can use my techy problems as an excuse. :-)

Well, now that the browser problem is fixed - let's party!  I'll bring the music if y'all will bring the men and fix'ns.  Only thing is, if you find one my age, he will be in a walker with a pace-maker smile

You might want to test Chrome in incognito mode.  Hit Shift+Control+N at the same time and it will bring up the incognito mode.  It doesn't load any of your addons or your cookies so it will give you a better idea if it's an issue specific with the browser, or something else attached to it causing an issue.

Hi, Knightmare--good to know! Thanks. I'll try that.

Oh, my. I am now in incognito mode.  I was able to reply to a comment, which I hadn't been able to before! Thanks so much! Now, will I always have to go incognito? :-)

Well, now you get to narrow down what kind of problem your having.  You might just get rid of your cookies just to be on the safe side, then take a look at your addons.  Did you install anything two days ago?  Install an ad blocker, or some widget... or even installed some other kind of program?  Or did a program like Java or something ask you to update?  Given it's a recent development, you might be able to track down and uninstall the issue, or reinstall as it might have just had a glitch during the install process.

Knightmare! I installed a Java update! Java kept bugging me to do it, so I did just a couple of days, or was it after the problems. I can't remember for sure, but actually I'm thinking it was after. . Should I uninstall Java and reinstall just in case? Also, I'm looking at Google Chrome at their "restore to previous version" options, so that if I did change something, I can go back.

Well, you definitely want both the latest java update and the latest Chrome simply due to the added security.  I would suggest going to the java website and downloading the installer there, then uninstalling and reinstalling it.  It won't hurt anything just uninstalling and reinstalling Java, just don't click through without reading and add that... intrusive taskbar.
