Spring Cleaning-Hubs!

   Spring is here. Time to start the spring cleaning, which I have been working on at home, and now will start with the same on my hubs.
   Sometimes change is good. Pruning helps with the shrubs and trees before the new growing season begins. I am hoping that by pruning and weeding hubs that the overall performance of hubs that remain will prosper.
   Some have told me that our portfolio of articles/hubs should be large to gain the attention of Google. That can still be achieved using other platforms for newer writings. Also can re-energize older hubs with edits to bring seasonal hubs up-to-date.
   One topic (entertainment/artist) I have totally deleted the hubs and am considering another (comedy/humor)  so I can focus on the topics that received the most traffic and I have the most interest in.
   The number of hubs will now be well below half of where I once was, but may start writing new hubs when/if the new criteria for featuring is settled to where I can know what will "cut-the-mustard" here on HP.

      I am cluing in to HP's brilliant plan.  I am deleting all hubs as soon as they are idled and not writing more.  What a great plan!  These guy's are truly geniuses!

         I have deleted all, except one, that were idled. Now I am deleting some that are still featured.

            I have an idea the hubs I do get traffic on would do much better elsewhere now.  Even on Yahoo! at the moment I have only 18 articles and am getting around half the views of over 90 here.  I didn't put near the time and research in on those few articles but the Yahoo! articles outrank HP's even without having many photos at all.  Go figure!
            
            So, I'll try and see if my traditionally best hubs will do better elsewhere now.  What do I have to lose?

               I also remember someone saying at one time that too many different topics was not a good idea. Maybe by cutting down topics it will be easier for Google to notice the sub-domain and rank better in search engines.
               It would be really handy if we could move hubs to another sub-domain here at Hubpages.  Since we cannot, I am just deleting those I do not want on this sub-domain.

                  With the state HP is now in, it tends to make one be a bit desperate in experimentation.  Even to the point of removing previously proven content and placing it elsewhere.
