page jumps?

I'm working on a very long hub (right now it's at 2600 words), and I'd like to put page jumps in, so that someone could click on a title and skip to that part farther down on the same page. I know that in regular html, it looks something like this:

    SKIP AHEAD

And then the target would be tagged

But it doesn't seem to work. I keep getting a message that hubpages is "cleaning up my html", and then when i test the page jump it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if page jumps are possible on hubpages?

    Thanks!
    S

HP has plenty of hoop jumps, but page jumps may be a bit technical for this tech crew so far.  They can't even keep the stats running smoothly of late!  yikes

Yes - but you can only jump to the beginning of a module - so you'd have to ensure that you design the modules correctly.

Add links in the format  'http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubname#mod_xxxxxxx'

The #mod number is a number that is assigned to every module that you insert in a hub.
Using Internet Explorer - go to your hub:
    1) Click on View Source
    2) Scroll down the source until you find your introduction text. Look for code like: div class="modfloat full"><div id="mod_20494979" class="module moduleText color0"

OK, thank you, this is helpful.

So in the link format http://hubpages.com/hub/Hubname#mod_xxxx

What do I replace the first "hub" with?
      What about the "hubname"?
Where would I find the names that I need to use?

      Thanks for your help!

Replace "hubpages.com" with your subdomain. Then replace "Hubname" with the name of your Hub. Leave "/hub/" the way it is. Basically it's http://link.to/your-hub#mod_xxxx.

The "#mod_xxxx" identifies a specific HTML element on a webpage. When you put "#mod_xxxx" at the end of the URL to a specific webpage, that tells the web browser "Go to the page, then go down to the element specified by the ID." So you just put the "#mod_xxxx" identifier at the end of the link to your hub.

If you use Google Chrome (a much better web browser than Internet Explorer), you can right click on a module and select "Inspect Element." But either that or the view source method Simey mentioned will let you find the ID of the module.
