    Hello,

I am having trouble with the "embeded code" and things like that on the poll and other capsule. I know how to create them and all that, but they don't turn out right in the end. I've read a ton of posts on the subject and gone thru step-by-step in the Learning Center about 10 times. I thought before my head exploded, maybe someone could hlep me.

    Thanks,
    Michele Jones

I never used the embedded capsule thingy, but for the others all you need to do is play around with the arrow a bit after placing a great deal of text onto the page. Over time you will notice a cool pattern and strategy of your very own to develop. There really is no one fix for such a thing, or one way to do it all. You just need to play around with the movement (green) arrows for them silly capsules a great deal, and you will start to get the hang of it all over time.

One trick I like to do is at the end of my text area, I like to press the "enter" button on my keyboard, once or twice. This helps to create page spacing. It also helps to begin making differing patterns of format appearance on the screen, and creates additional white space depending on how you like your hubs to appear to the viewers. Adding capsules beneath such a space will also create a cool effective look, but make sure to add text beside them if you want to maximize its feel and page navigation.

I'm not sure if this will help you any, if you need any further technical assistance as in if your capsules are failing to load. I would contact the Hubpages staff here using the "Help" link up above next to the "start a hub" link.

You can go there to the help section and click the appropriate button there to get assistance.

I would click this one that states "I have suggestions for HubPages, or have a technical issue or bug to report" based on the info you supplied up above here in your forum post.

Here's the link to it if for some reason you haven't yet located it on your Hubpages account.

      Good luck!

Thank you so much for all of the helpful advice! I really liked your view on white space. You have great suggestions!

Hey misslong123! I'm not quite sure what you mean by "embedded code" as the only time we even really enable people to insert code into a Capsule is when they're using the Code Capsule (in that case, it's just to show code, not to embed it) or the Video Capsule (and inserting the URL works just as well as inserting the embed code).

Should you want a guide to each capsule, step by our HubTool guide: hubpages.com/learningcenter/using-hubtool

      Hope that helps!

I am not sure what the question/s are, but regarding the "embed code" capsule, this is intended for people who are writing about computer programming to be able to paste the programming code into a capsule so that it appears as text (and doesn't fail/give error messages as it would contain banned code and similar).

Simplistically: if you are not a computer programmer, writing hubs about programming, never use the embed code capsule.  Forget it exists.

Thank you so much. I think I got confused. I was trying to get a poll or a quiz - and it said get this widget. I thought it meant I did not have access to polls or quizzes, so I went to the Widget thing in account screen, and that's where I saw that embeded code. I think I just was really confused.
