It is strange to feel a pang when you see Hubbers leaving for good even if in most cases you might not have known of their existence. And, add to that, you might not even have been a very active member.
To be fair to them, one very discouraging fact is, it is not all hunky-dory in the money department here. Hubpages may promise a lot but I think only very small number of people make the grade. The rest are there only as a habit. I have never earned more than $0.20 in any month. After a while, I realized it is not the money but the affinity that makes most people stay on.
Go if you must but stay if you can
There's so much BS going on here I'm amazed Ive hung on this long! If someone could explain to me how a hub score drops by 20 points overnight while the number of views doubled!
Were these bad readers or what????
I'm in adsense limbo at the moment - I applied but havent heard anything for 1,5 months now...getting more and more annoyed - I keep up with my hubbing though! And wouldnt want to leave..
Why would anyone care what the score is? Keep it above 75 hubber score and 40 hub score - beyond that forget about it.
Did we lose more people? That's sad. I hate to see good members of the community move on.
Wilderness, Simone just stated in another topic that Hubber Score does affect how much time is given before a hub is idled. So I found it kind of strange that she told someone she never worries about her Hubber score. I think as QAP is perfected, both Hubber Score and Hub Score will become more important. Better to get a head start at getting them as high as possible.
I believe if your score is above 90, hubs may not be placed in idle state. At first it bothered me, but who really cares. I just fix the hub and move on. I do believe that our earnings will go up after this dip.
I believe you are right, but can guarantee that the number is not 90. I've not been below that for a long time, but have one hub that constantly goes in an out of "featured" status. 95, maybe - I seem to bounce around that figure for my hubber score.
I'm pretty sure there is some truth to that, but I have a hard time getting excited about a hub that becomes unfeatured (for traffic reasons). A new hub I'll just edit and bring it back once or twice; an old hub that isn't getting search engine traffic isn't of much value to me (no traffic=no income) anyway - featured or unfeatured it isn't going to earn anything.
Wilderness you're assuming it will never earn anything. That's not the way I've seen it happen. Topics become popular for a variety of reasons. I've written blog posts about antiques that simmer slowly along. Then a reality television show star shows one off and I get hit with a bonanza of traffic and sales. If I've got enough content, it adds up after a while and leads to consistent sales. The trick is to work my way up the serps and wait. That's becoming harder and harder on HP. I work hard to keep all of my Hubs featured.
There are so many changes on Hubpages that can be daunting to some people. (Even I get a bit upset sometimes) I write outside HP but choose to stay here because I started my Writing here and have built a lovely network of online friends who I am in touch with daily on Facebook or Twitter.
Overall, it's a nice place to write.

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

I took a hiatus for awhile from Hub Pages! However, in the past week or so, I have added new hubs participated in forums, asked a question or two, participated with the Hub Hopper, have read some Hubs, yet my Hubber Score is lower than it was when I was doing nothing. I don't get it!

My Hubber Score has been very stable in the mid 90's (94 to 96) for at least a year. In the last few days since I published a new hub it has been dropping, and it is now down to 90. Also in the week since I published my new hub, I've been more active on HP with respect to getting comments and...

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much. What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

We've been telling each other for years that our Hubber scores are not important. We were wrong. From HubPages Weekly:"""Congrats, Your Article Is Featured! Now, Here’s How To Keep It That Way...So, your article needs to have some search traffic to stay Featured. The amount of...
